Very Good
Keyte JubileumKeyte Jubileum
Notes: A sour Belgian blonde ale, spontaneously fermented in Tuscan oak wine barrels, Keyte Jubileum is a 10th anniversary celebration of the original Keyte (which was a collaboration between Strubbe and Oostendse Bierjutters).

2021 August: can still find it in some stores in northern CA.
Fruit, crisp apples/cider nose; amber; lovely tart "lambic" mouthfeel with a smooth clean finish. No bitterness at all.

A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that quickly settled down, leaving ribbons of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sour grapes are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is very sour and has notes of white grapes along with notes of oak from the barrel aging.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting sour ale—in some aspects it tastes like a sour white wine.

Poured from 75 cL bottle into tulip. Bottle # 0310.
A: Pours a dark orange amber hue with super active carbonation jets fueling a 3 inch bubbly white head with very good retention. Very faint lacing.
S: Sour, tart, moderate red berry sweetness, peppery funk, vinous oak, and a hint of salt.
T: Follows aroma fairly closely up front with sour, tart, strawberry, and cherry. Digging deeper and allowing this to warm a bit uncovers oaked red wine, cinnamon, clove, mild peppery funk, and a hint of citrus.
M: Love the interplay of sour, tart, and berry sweetness. Moderately dry throughout. Light-medium body.
D: The deeper I got into this beer, the more I liked it. A suitable 10th anniversary brew! Very good complexity and fairly refreshing with excellent balance.

White head. Golden orange, but dark.

Reminds me of a gueuze. Funky and sour. But not very tart. Wet horse blanket and cobweb. Green apple skins.

Easy to drink and enjoyable.

The beer is a medium gold. There's some haze, but that's probably down to bottle handling. Solid white head. Good lacing and retention. The aroma is full of fruity goodness. Big on peaches, grapes, apricots, tangerines, lemons. Lots of oaky vinous barrel flavor. Light vanilla and delicate malt sweetness. It's all moderately sour, just a perfect touch of funky gentle vinegar. Dusty barnyard yeastiness. Taste has a lot of barrel character but the beer holds up well to it. It's fairly dry but still packs a lot of fruit. Moderate to mild sourness. Light pucker. Tannic oaky finish. Excellent marriage of wine barrel, yeast and malt flavors. Maybe a touch of wheaty spice. Soft, full feel. Easy to drink. This was a very happy surprise. It reminds me of Sante Adairius more than anything. Excellent beer.
