Nice copper orangey pour with medium lacing. Plenty of deep wood resin in the nose like a walk through a piney forest floor. Even stronger on all those notes on the palate. Maybe a tad over the top on them too. I wanted more nuance in the flavor profile to detect some fruit or mash or anything other than that crystalize resin. It lingers on the the aftertaste too.

The 2020 brew that includes spruce from the 2020 City of Milwaukee Christmas Tree. Poured from a can into a tulip. Pours dark red orange with a fluffy white head. Smells of citrus with just a hint of pine. Tastes of pine with just a hint of citrus, like drinking a Christmas tree. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Unknown vintage; drank 7/12/15 @ the Palace.
See-through orange appearance.
Huge eggshell head; frothy tree-rung lace.
Fresh pine needles, orange citrus & mint notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Fresh pine needle flavor up front; dry pine finish. Holy shit, this was like licking a pine needle.
Over the top & unbalanced; interesting nonetheless.

Had on tap. Golden brunt orange body with some light white foam. Smells strongly of pine, like if you just opened a pine car air freshener and then shoved it up your nostrils. Taste is a resinous version of the smell, with some sticky caramel malts to help cut the intensity, pretty tasty actually. Body is sticky, hoppy and herbal. No nuance here, but if you like pine and hops this one is for you!

The spruce is just too much. Smells great, doesn't taste nearly as good.
