It glows a murky copper orange when poured into a .5l dimpled stein, displaying a ton of fluffy soufflé foam and clumps of lacing. Retention is good, and it impressively keeps a head the whole time.

Fruity, spicy aroma from the estery yeast and specialty grains lend to a multigrain bread impression with fruit preserves.

Fruity grapeskin and malty bready taste, similar to the aroma. Medium bodied though a touch astringent. Overall drinkable and pleasant, seemed pretty fresh.

Multiple pints on tap
A-Brownish red with a weak beige head, clear.
S-Beautiful toasted malts-caramel with a hint of nuttiness dominate this one.
T-Dominated by sweet malty taste-reminds me of Schells caramel bock-a great beer that I wish Schells would bring back-glad I found a replacement! This beer is smooth and delicious, weak on hops and easy to drink.
M-Medium bodied with well balanced tang from the carbonation.
D-Awesome-this goes down easy but yet tastes great.
O-A fantastic beer to get on tap if you happen to be close to Pembine. A great addition to the area-keep making this one Black Husky!

Bottle split and poured into tulips.

A: Amber red hue. Tiny beige head. Soapy lace left behind.

S: Sweet and malty. Rather spice forward. Actually has a sort of pumpkin feel going on. A bit of funk is present. Possible infection?

T: Mild tartness, sour fruit? Uh oh. We got an infection here. The spices do come through but this one has gone south.

M: Thin and fairly flat.

O: Well sadly this one has it's problems. Hopefully it's an isolated incident.

Pours a dense, off-white head. A sweet, malt aroma with notes of butterscotch and caramel (I'm a little worried). Deep burnt umber color. Wow. This isn't as sweet as I was expecting. There is a nice, toasty maltiness with an undertone of booziness and caramel. Finish is a touch of spicy hops and lingering sweet malt.

This is really nice. The aroma made me expect a sweet, malty, caramel brew, but it was toasty, spicy hops, and a faint sweetness. Very nice.

A - Hazy copper orange with a few finger head that is solid and whip cream thick with huge bubbles caught in the foam.

S - Bready with some sweet caramel, fruity, spicy.

T - Sweet malt, bready grains, biscuit with light spicy hops to balance.

M - Medium body with good carbonation.

D - A simple malty red ale that I could drink all today. Well balanced.

Black Husky Harold the Red

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into a shaker pint. Served chilled...

A) This is a pretty dark red. There was a small light tan head,which settled to nothing....

S) Quite malty, whiff of caramel for sure, and a little earthy hops.

T) Pleasurable malty sweetness... Hops in the background, and definitely some alcohol. What is the ABV here???

M) Medium bodied... Pretty light on the carbonation,which makes this one come off a bit flat.

O) Certainly an enjoyable red, but nothing spectacular. Still, Black Husky remains my favorite nano brewery.
