On tap at Stubbys in MKE. 7.4% per the menu.

Poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: very dark with a tan head that dissipates pretty quickly.

Smell: sweet smelling. A faint sugar hit, almost like caramel.

Taste: yeah, this is like drinking a milk/sugar/caramel mix. Very well blended. Nothing overpowering.

Mouthfeel: a little sticky. Probably from the milk sugar. Leaves a bit of a residue in my mouth.

Overall: pretty good. A step down from the Big Bad Baptist I had before, but still very good.

22oz bottle, no date. Pours black with a smaller sized khaki head; some lacing. Smells of roasted malt, earthy hops, and sweet lactose; below average intensity. The taste follows with roasted malt, earthy hops, cocoa, and some lactose. Subtle sweetness and mild, lingering bitterness. Average body and carbonation for the style. Overall, the flavors are a little too one-dimensional and it needs more lactose.

A higher ABV milk stout with a ton of tan, dense thick head. This is a chocolatey milk stout. Smooth as expected. Easy drinking and well done given the hug alcohol content.

Great beer, good complexity and drink ability without the full "imperial" kick. Very well made and enjoyable.

Into a 0.5l dimpled mug it pours browninsh black, with a fluffy head of dark tan soufflé foam, leaving all sorts of lacing inside the glass.

Sweet lactic aroma, some roasty notes, chocolate milk impression.

Ashy roast, mellow sweetness, some light astringency. Body is light to medium, creamy and porterish. Lasting dry roasty aftertaste. Over time the astringency gets a little tiresome, not sure if it's a result of age/storage temperature or not. Overall a tasty milk stout, and i'll look forward to trying this again to compare sometime.

Thanks Jayme for the Black Husky assortment!

Exceptional. If this brew was more in the 5% abv range it would be as good as a milk stout could possibly be. My only complaint is it was a bit boozy. Regardless, simply awesome. I love this brewery.

Poured a black color with a slightly viscous body. Light tan head with pouring. Aromas were of malted milk and chocolate. The flavors were the same asa the aromas. Sweet malted milk though out with notes of milk chocolate. The sweetness lingers around with no hint of bitterness. Not a lot of depth but the flavors were still tasty regardless. Mouthfeel medium bodied and creamy. An excellent milk stout. It's not something that stands out compared to other milk stouts but there were no flaws, just easy drinkability. However there were no date on the bottle. It was bottled in Pembine when the actual brewery relocated - so I highly doubt it's fresh.

A - Black with brown hues and a fluffy tan head that remained as a 1/4 inch of foam.

S - Chocolate milk lactic aroma with some roasty malts.

T - Roasty with some ash notes and a light lactic milk sweetness. The ash/roast combo becomes astringent as it warms but the lactic sweetness seems to balance it out.

M - Smooth and creamy.

D - A decent milk stout.
