On tap at Blue Moon in Madison, Wisconsin. Served in a snifter glass 11/23/2014.
A- Hazy, lighter golden-copper body, one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Nice frothiness to it, and its staying power is quite impressive for the most part. [4]
S- This pale ale probably has Simcoe in it. There is a fair amount of "cat piss" aromas that I notice here, but otherwise there is an abundance of tangerines, grapefruit and pine in balance with grainy caramel and toffee. Not too complicated, but it's a pretty dang nice smelling beer. [4]
F- Lots of citrus comes out on the palate with a moderately bitter piney finish. The caramel and biscuit sweetness are quite forward here, enough to balance out the hops. Tasty, but there is also a subtle booziness to it that detracts a bit for me. [3.75]
M- Medium bodied, not syrupy but certainly would not be accused of being thin either. Nice carbonation, slightly prickly while being nice and dry. Refreshing, not difficult to drink aside from the slight booziness. [4]
O- Pretty good APA with a nice citrus punch and balance. As far as local APAs go, I do prefer Moon Man because it has more balance and just as much hoppiness in a smaller format. [3.75]
Final score: 3.84

Clear, (relatively dark for an IPA) amber.
Thin head. No lacing.
Appealing, roasted barley aromas.
Soft, tangy, full-bodied mouthfeel, with appropriate bitterness for an American IPA.
In my humble opinion, this exceptional brew should qualify as Double / Imperial IPA.
Just a little bit heady. But so accomplished!
Very local Black Husky Milwaukee small-batch brewery produces some of the most amazing brews I've experienced in my far too long life.
If you have a chance to taste it, don't miss it.
~April 2018.

A nice balance through and through of pine, biting hops, and smooth malts. Outshone a bit by the citra version, but I've yet to be disappointed by the regular.
