Pours a cloudy golden color with a big top of white head that dissolves slowly and leaves some sticky lacings.
Aroma is of citrus, apples, banana, biscuits, yeast, peppercorns, corriander and floral and grassy hops.
The flavour is sweet and fruity with some light malt tones and some spicy yeast notes that gets strong in the middle before it finish of medium dry.
The flavour is quite good balances with a smooth and comfortable mouthfeel.
A nice example of a blonde ale that works very good on a sunny day.

The colour is pale gold (7 EBC); the two finger head is white and airy. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing. It looks much like a Czech pils.

The powerful smell is smooth with notes of fruity/phenolic yeast. It is very sweet. Medium strong bitterness with hoppy notes of hay and dried flowers. Hints of metal, butter and alcohol.

The taste is sweet and clean with some flowers, metal and a medium bitterness that fades rather quickly. Dried apples and apricots. Light body. The aftertaste got some alcohol and a soap-like yeasty flavour. The finish is bitter with some fresh fruits.

The carbonation is strong, lots of small short-lived sharp bubbles. The liquid is light.

A very refreshing and modern blond. Enjoyable and highly Belgian.

One more beer that was recently bought at the now defunct Bruery Provisions. 330 ml of beer to get through. On to the beer:

Close enough to be called a blonde ale with its paler orange color. The head is the highlight, with its creamy settling and inch thickness, not to mention the great whispy lacing it leaves. Belgian blonds can go in two directions; the dry and rustic route, or the sweet route. Based on the aroma, it could go either way when I taste it. The nose features notes of wildflowers, lemon peel, raw leafiness, and vague citrus.

Can it go down both roads? Viven Blond hits with a pleasant fruitiness first, along the lines of a tart peach. Otehr notes include wildflowers, leaves, apples, and a peppery bitterness. Complimenting the flavor is an impressive mouthfeel; it's medium bodied, somewhat airy, and carbonated "just right", not overcarbonated that the bubbles kill your palalte, not so soft that you don't feel it.

A pleasant Belgian ale, like many coming out of that country. Would be a good one to drink with dinner.

Quite blond indeed, honey colored, clear and bit thin-looking, and foamy, with a cloud of persistent ivory on top. A little bakery aroma, coriander maybe, some banana and peach, fine but not much anything. Hoppy attack but malt follows quickly, with a kind of vegetal sweetness, a good dose of citrus zest. Mouthfeel is substantial but the hop-citrus magic combo cleans up well, prepares for the next sip.

This bottle was at room temperature but I put it in the fridge for 10 minutes to cool it down. It has been split between two small snifters. My glass got the bulk of the yeast at the bottom of the glass.

The cloudy liquid has the color of tarnished gold. The head is beautiful. It fills half the glass. It has a pure white color and looks as if it were made of large soap bubbles. Decent lacing remains as the head disappears.

The aroma is very nice. The strongest smell is the yeast; It is earthy and musty. There is a touch of sweetness from candi sugar.

It has a big flavor. There is a syrupy sweetness and earthy (and slightly peppery) yeast flavors—these two tastes dominate. There is a touch of orange peel.

It is a thick beer that leaves my lips coated as well as the inside of my mouth. There isn't much flavor to the coating, just some pale malt sweetness. Carbonation is strong and leaves my tongue tingling.

This beer may look and smell better than it tastes and feels, but it is still a very solid Belgian pale ale. I got it as part of a package, so I can't comment on the price. I am unfamiliar with this brewery, but based upon this one offering, I would try other beers they produce.

First of all, this is a blonde/blond and not a pale ale - can the mods please (finally) add blonde as a style of Belgian ale?

It pours a hazy golden into my Maredsous chalice with one finger head. Some lacing.

On the nose the yeasty phenols come through. I get fruits but also spice - cloves? On the palate, it has a slightly sweet fruitiness (banana, passion, pear) with a nice spice character. The hops come through at the end to give it a dry finish.

As for drinkability, I guess it depends on the person. For me, I find most Belgian blondes/blonds just too heavy (yeasty rich) to have more than one or two of. However, this is one the Belgian blondes that I have tasted that is most to my palate. Certainly one of the drier examples I have had.

PS Mods won't accept my picture even though it meets the specs but it is here: ...otherwise, it looks like the Viven Imperial IPA except the label has blue instead of red type and says Blond instead of Imperial IPA!

Nice looking bottle and it pours a pale yellow hue with beautifulcarbonation that leaves behind a frothy three finger head and lacing everywhere, the smell is baked breads, candied fruits and tropical punch, the mouthfeel is medium bodied and very pleasant on the palette with tastes of tropical fruits, candy, raisin bread, candied figs and finishes with a nice dryness that leaves you thirsty and wanting another sip and would be ideal for a day in the hot sun or at the beach its quite refreshing.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/26/2016. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, coriander, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, coriander, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of herbal bitterness/yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, pepper, coriander, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hop, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian pale ale. All around good complexity, balance, and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bought this one directly from Sijsele,

golden color in the bottle, fruit in the nose, taste is of apples, spices, hoppy and sweet, good balance. Very refreshing, dry finish. Full enough for me. Their DIPA still is the best in line, but certainly good enough for a refreshment on a hot summer night!

L- Pale amber with minimal haze. Pours with 5Cm eager off-white pillowy head. In fact 15mins post-pour there was a strange 2Cm wide hollow chimney-pot-like foam structure standing proud and leaning against the side of the glass. Most odd. ps - then later on. Much of that odd foam clump was still in the glass at the end. I scooped it out readying to try my next beer, the fat clump ended in the sink plughole. *I kid you not dear reader* that I was puzzled 30-40mins later in the gloomy kitchen to see a creamy gloopy lump in the sink... confused.. 'what is *that*?', probing it gently. It was the then 1/2-thumb sized chunk of foam still sitting there in the empty sink; WTH.
S- 'Totally Belgian', spicy + timber notes.
T- Closely follows the smell^ Quite bright spicy taste into a moderate hoppy dry finish.
F- On the dryer side with balancing body. =versatile (seasonally).
O- Very nice. Bright and interestung flavour, would happily have again. The staying power of that foam head was surreal!
