I can't really review this, I think it was transported/stored improperly before it got to me. I had the 2013 vintage, maybe it just wasn't meant to age for 4 years... It was mildly sour and mostly undrinkable. It had none of the Strong Ale characteristics....

Feel. Rather high but soft carbonation. Medium body. High ABV?
Durable head over a hazy amber body,
Slight bitter/sour note in the finish and aftertaste. Soft, ripe fruit notes.
Very slight harshness (from ABV?).

On tap at Monk's Cafe Mad Monday event, 3/2014
A-Pours a hay-like dark golden color with a small creamy white head that has decent retention.
S- Port Charlotte is a heavily peated scotch, which is obvious from the atoms. It literally smells like band-aide roasted over a camp fire with a side of bacon.
T- heavy peat gives flavors of burnt rubber and smoked sausage. The peat is so strong that it's pretty much all I can taste, I can't really pick out any of the base beer's flavors
M- medium body and carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a pretty smooth finish
O- This is one of those situations where the barrel was just simply too strong, as it was the only thing I could taste. Perhaps this would have worked better with an imperial stout? Not for me, or anyone at my table. Only recommended for fans of heavily peated Scotch
