Picked this up at a great little beer store in Arlon, Belgium, Miorge Mihoublon. Clear mahogany pour with a beige head that fades almost immediately with no lacing. The nose is subtly sweet and malty with lots of dark fruits along with hints of caramel, wood, vanilla, and quite a bit of booze. The taste is woody and boozey with a ton of dark fruits along with sweet caramel malt, vanilla, oak, toffee, and subtle brandy. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation and a boozey, warming finish. The booze overwhelms a bit hurting the drinkability, as this is definitely a sipper. Overall, this was very similar to the Pale Ale versions I've tried, but with a bit more character. A great bottle to share with friends!

On tap at the Thirsty Monk (AVL).
Dark red-amber body with a small head.

Excellent, rich aroma; hints of cherries, brandy and vague ripe fruits. Mild and subtle alcohol esters for 12% ABV.

Flavor. Fruity; slightly tartness with a touch of sweetness and bitterness. Strong but appealing and well balanced flavor.

Hof Ten Dormaal Project 2014 - Brandy Aged

On tap at Brasserie Beck. $15 for an 8oz (maybe less) pour. Poured into wine glass.

A great beer for the eyes and the nose but then you taste it and the beer falls apart. Maybe age this one and let it mellow. 3.75

A – Pours a beautiful clear dark amber with a small creamy white heady that dissipates with no return. Very low carbonation. 4.25

S - Vinous, dark fruit, brandy. 4.25

T - Many wine and brandy like qualities. Oaky. Not too dry but not sweet either. Hot, alcohol is evident. But alcohol keeps this beer from being syrupy. 3.75

MF - Medium body with an almost dry finish. Hot and sharp. 3.5
