Had this at the Bistro's 22nd annual ipa festival held on April 13, 2019. Huge fan of Boneyard, so any time they have a new beer (to me) I make sure to check it out. It was the 5th beer I had that day. Pours yellow and displays professional grade clarity. Smallish 1/3" white head. Looks good. Aroma wasn't popping big for all the Citra/Mosaic talk I heard (not confirmed). I got more of a bitter tree thing, so could be Simcoe/Centennial/Chinook somewhere.

Taste is just fine. Still keeps up with the bitter tree vibe more than anything tropical fruit oriented like one would believe if the proprietary hop bill guesstimates from others are correct. The bitterness is right around the 60ibu mark, making it no slough in the ibu game in 2019. Dry finish like almost every Boneyard hoppy beer, very light and dry body, pale toasted malt.

Very good stuff, but I don't think it is going to move Notorious, Hop Venom or RPM from being the mainstays.

Served in shaker pint. Poured a clean, clear medium gold color with a quarter-inch of white head that had good retention and lacing.

Lots of pine hops in the nose, with a bit of floral tones, and a very low grain profile.

The favor was the same, with a hit of citrus bite on the finish.

The body was thinner than i look for in the style, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was fine, pleasant enough that I'll probably have another. Overall, a solidly nice brew that's worth a shot if you see it.

a tasty and flavorful beer, a little mild though on the hops in terms of the really bright fresh and forward dry hop profile everyone seems to be chasing these days. it still says citra and mosaic to me, but it says it in an inside voice that i think flatters it and makes it more drinkable, a less is more situation, but still a very full flavored beer. i like the lighter malt profile, it has the taste without the weight, lightly crackery and dry, with a nice earthiness that goes well with the hops. sweet lemon and canned pineapple notes to the hops, familiar but restrained just a little here. the thing that i like the best here isnt the flavor, good as it is, but the feel, which is almost cask-like to me, mellow carbonation almost still, but that smooth, sort of aerated feel you get from the engine, even though this came from a regular faucet. its gentle feeling in that way, makes the hops go a little further, and it sure is drinkable. a different kind of ipa here than i am used to from these guys, where usually its over my head with a hammer, but this is really good. a nice change of pace...
