Pours an orange tan. Pleasing citrusy and pine notes. Easy drinking pale ale from a brewery I don't see often enough. Anytime I see something from Boneyard it's on!

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a murky orange color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head. Not much lace, but what was there, slid into the beer. The aroma had some sweet to bitter grassy/floral/herbal grapefruit pulp and rind tones over a stiff piney hop backbone. Malts seemed there, but quaint and smooth. The flavor brought on the sweetness of the blend of hops to malts. Aftertaste was hop coated maltiness. Finish was semi-sticky but with a good sturdy sliding eloquence. The palate was medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt as projected. Hop abrasion doesn’t occur and a helpful smoothness seemed to let the hops just slide over my tongue. Overall, damn good APA, West coast styled to the fullest and would love to have another one if I could get it again!

Pint at HG.

A: Lightly cloudy light amber color with golden highlights beneath an inch cap of white greasy foam that had great long-lasting head retention. Rings of sticky lace were left down the glass.
S: The nose is full of a lightly fruity sweetness alongside citrus rind and clean, bready malt.
T: Flavor is lightly sweet and citrus hops mixed with crackery, bready, crisp grainy malt backbone. Drying, crisp finish.
M: Clean, crisp and drying mouthfeel with smooth and soft carbonation over a crisp and light body.
O: Super quaffable, smooth, and very crisp and clean.

This one gets a consistent 4.5 across the board. Looks just like a pale ale should, but drinks like an IPA. Pale yellow with a thin ring of white fluffy head. Smells of pine, lemon, ripe peaches, and punchy grapefruit. Taste follows smell, with enough malt to balance out the hops. Finishes with grapefruit bitterness that lasts just enough to invite another sip. A mighty fine and crushable ale. Fine effort by Boneyard!
