12oz can purchased at Pilgrim's, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Haven't seen it in Washington.

Poured into a shaker pint glass, this was a dark, coppery orange-amber color, with a good sized, creamy looking, off-white head. Lots of lace.

Smells like a WCIPA in the nose, but with some sweet malt notes as well.

Maltiness is a lot higher in the mix than the hops. The hops are very much subordinate in a way that I didn't expect from the nose. Disappointing for something labeled an IPA. Tastes like an amber with a slightly hoppy edge to it.

Medium bodied, with a watery mouth feel for the style, whether the style is IPA or Red Ale.

Pity, as the nose made it seem like they'd be more present in the taste. This seems like an attempt to straddle two styles, and doesn't really work for either.

Rusty and hazy. Smell is sweet, citrusy, and floral; black tea, cracker malt, and a hint of spice. Taste is fairly bitter upfront, grapefruit and pine with a solid malt backbone, black tea, orange peel, raisin, floral notes, and a bit of apple and spice on the finish. Very well balanced, and surprisingly crushable, though quite a bit more bitter than a typical amber.

sort of a red ipa here, really intensely flavored and sturdy beer, its not boozy or anything, but it kind of presents as an imperial, a ton of malt, a lot of hop intensity, and while pungent, im not sure how cohesive it as as a whole, it was almost shocking to my palate coming off of another couple of different ipa types. deep brick red color to this from the tap, heaving off white layer of froth, nice retention and lace, looks a little dense but also pretty active. the malt side is nice, nutty and sweet, earthy too, baked and maybe long boiled as well, intense, with dried cherry and raisin depth to it, a kilned warmth, and a lot of body, hearty and almost healthful to me. the hops are a little disruptive though, pine and bitter, quite a bit of bite to this, oily in texture and with that sort of hop oil permeating the tongue feel on the finish, high alpha for sure, flavors of c type hops, spicy with pine, northwestern and on the edge of being too much, but with some neat fruity flavors in the middle, hints of mango and melon of all things, curious with all this intense bitterness and malt heft, and i go back and forth wondering if i like it, making myself confused. lots going on here, nice for sipping in winter time, but one was plenty for me. nice to see some other flavors from boneyard trickling into idaho! if you are a fan of the red ipa, this should do it for you, about as robust as they get on both sides...

12 oz can. Pours clear copper with a medium off white head that retains fairly well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is vegetal malt and some toffee.

The flavor is sweet caramel malt and cola with some fruit and ashy resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit watery.

Overall, not that great.

12oz can. Clear amber body, small khaki head. Loads of caramel and toasted malts, with resiny/piney hops and some citrusy rind character. Leads with the malt character on the palate with lots of caramel, resiny hops backing up. Tasty, easy drinking.

Wow! Here's a nice surprise. It's the seldom-encountered flavor I call "musty," but in a good way. It's woody and wild with English-tasting nutty malt. Pleasant malty touch of sweetness with an interesting sourish note. Moderate bitter aftertaste so you don't forget it's an IPA, though I'd call it more of a hopped up Amber ale.

They call this a "Red India Pale ale" and it is a ruddy shade of amber. Nearly clear with swirls of foam in the Kasteel chalice. I"m not sure I'd drink a lot of this but it's a zingy blast of hops and unusual tastes. From the 12 oz can purchased at Whidbey Beer Works. "Canned on 02/01/21" on the bottom.

Growler from Bert's. Clear amber, thin sand colored head. Toasty malt aroma, caramel. Caramel, toffee malts, sweet, then dry. Sharp bitter edge at the finish.

Low carbonation, trace of head over a slightly hazy red pour. Light aroma. Taste is better than what the lead-in might indicate. Solid malt base and flavorable hops. Let it warm slightly to allow it to open up a little. This one can grow on you.

12oz can (dated 1/14/21) poured into 14oz teku. poured a cloudy dark red color with a half-inch of khaki head that had moderate retention and light lacing.

Bright hops at the front of the aroma topping a solid malt base.

Same on the tongue, with some hop bitterness lingering on the finish.

The body was medium-full, smooth and had a semi-sweet finish.

Drinkability was good, a quick, easy pound.

Overall a solid and enjoyable brew. Worth a shot if you see it.

Look: Clear deep red with a nice, frothy eggshell head that billows and slowly recedes to a lid, leaving sticky lacing behind
Aroma: Resinous pine sap, grapefruit, deep earthy notes, dark malts, freshly baked bread, and an awesome floral note reminiscent of fresh hop flowers
Taste: Pine, citrus, and earthiness explode out of the glass before being joined by a rich and deep bready and grainy malt undertow that compliments the hops and is well balanced. As that fades, hops shine again and a nice hop bite closes it out
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and moderate dryness on the finish
Overall: This stuff kicks ass. I first had this beer years ago at a local spot that hosted a Boneyard tap takeover, as I dug both the style and the name, and needless to say, was impressed. Then I saw the label for it, thought it was awesome, and bought a tee shirt. Now, I heard it was being packaged?! Yep, I had to score me some and it is freaking delicious. Hoppier than Diablo Rojo but it’s pegged as an IRA so should be – though it isn’t lacking in malt presence at all. If you like hoppy reds, seriously, grab yourself this great beer
