Pours dark red with an off white head. Aroma offers the barrel with some sweet pitted fruit and berries, a hint of some cocoa, and caramel. Flavor offers the sweet and a touch tart (great job by the brett here) fruitiness of the pitted fruit and berries from the aroma, the barrel blends in flawlessly, some vanilla, and a kiss of some hoppiness. Medium bodied. Overall, a fantastic beer here. Not really a style I am a huge fan of, but loved this beer. Can't believe this was 13%, could not detect the alcohol at all in this, dangerous. Grimm is one of the most under-appreciated Colorado breweries for barrel aged beers.
