Snow Drop
Once upon a time German beer was only deemed pure if it contained the four orthodox ingredients of brewing: water, barley, hops, and yeast. During this time, an ale known as Köttbusser was outlawed because it contained oats, honey, and molasses. Over the centuries since its prohibition, Köttbusser became a lost brewing style. At Grimm Brothers, we’ve resurrected this refreshing ale with a kiss of hops. You don’t need a magic mirror to know that Snowdrop is the fairest in the land. Recommended by dwarves everywhere!
Brewed with Altbier yeast.

The look is disconcerting, big chunks of oat flake in a particulate ridden mid amber with little head and fast fade.
Nose is mostly wheat and honey
Taste is whole wheat bread and honey with some apple notes.
Mouthfeel is okay (med.) with very little noticeable carbonation and a slightly drying finish.
Overall not a standout beer for me, but it may be the style.

One of my favorites, it is deliciously sweet and refreshing. You can tell honey was used in making it. Beautiful light blonde with visible yeast near the bottom of the glass. Not a heavy beer, only a hint of bitterness. Surprisingly good taste for a 7% ABV beer!

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, honey, brown sugar, toasted oats, biscuit, herbal, floral, pepper, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a very nice blonde ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, pale malt, honey, molasses, and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. A very unique beer; tastes like a cross between Kolsch, Wheat, and Blonde ale styles. A very enjoyable offering.

Poured into a glass it appeared to be a hazy, deep golden color with a white head. The light head faded quickly and left only traces of lacing. The smell is floral, lightly sweet, honey and white bread. The taste is very different with more yeastiness, a bitter sweetness from the molasses and a bitter, dry finish. I have never had a beer quite like this and it was an interesting and pleasant experience.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with active carbonation and a fine half finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of pale and grainy malt, light lemon, mild grassy hops, subdued. Flavor of grainy and light biscuit malt, mild honey, a hint of lemon and grassy hops; finishes spicy and grainy. Nice creamy medium body. A nice malt centered altbier with a touch of sweetness from the honey and touches of lemon and hops. Well balanced and mellow. Smooth tasting, with the moderate ABV well covered. The oats give this a slight oat flavor and good body. I liked this a lot. Interesting style.

Poured out a clear, golden-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, grains and floral notes. Sweet caramel taste with a mild bitter bite.
