The pour is a cloudy lemony yellow color with a soft white head. Good retention and some viscous.

The nose is present but not over whelming. A mostly citrus note with a hint of banana and cloves. Some yeasty undertones, but very soft over all. Very clean.

The taste is similar. The wheat has a nice presence and balances the esters/phenols. But a touch dry. Citrus comes out nicely but hints of banana and cloves as well. Bubblegum comes out as it warms. Very clean yeast finish.

The body is a bit dry. Could use some more complexity. But a very clean, easy drinking beer.

Yellow and hazy, fair head and ok lace.

Aroma is yeasty up front, with some wheat and grass notes, and a nice crispness that's not hoppy but has a feel reminiscent of a light hop bite.

Body is pretty good, thick and rich, yet way easy to drink, and very thirst quenching.

Had at Choice City Deli in Fort Colliins, CO.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass.

Appearance - About what you'd expect from a good hefe. Nice cloudiness with a good head.

Smell - Wheaty, with some subtle spicy/banana aroma. Very nice.

Taste - Very well balanced, follows the nose nicely. Has all the flavors a hefe should (banana, clove, bubblegum) with a good, clean wheatiness over the top.

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated, leaves the mouth very dry.

Overall - This is a very well executed hefeweizen, and I highly recommend it for anyone who has a chance to get a hold of some Grimm Bros.

22 fl oz brown glass bottle served into a hefeweissbier glass in me friend Brendan's gaff in high altitude Fort Collins, Colorado. Expectations are average. This is me first beer from the brewery.

Served straight from the refrigerator and allowed to warm over the course of consumption.

A: Pours a two finger head of beige colour, okay cream, and okay thickness. Colour is a cloudy hazy pale yellow. Some yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Lemon, wheat, cream, slight farmhouse yeast, biscuity yeast, and a slight lactic note. A moderate strength aroma. No alcohol comes through.

T: Bright lemon esters. Farmhouse wild yeast is dominant, evoking a saison more than a hefeweizen. Where's the biscuity yeast typical of the style? Wheat forms the simple unobtrusive foundation. The yeast sets it apart. Some mild layering. Not a complex beer, but features some subtlety. Rounded in quality but not particularly full-bodied.

Mf: Smooth and wet, with some biscuity yeast character. A touch too thick. Adequately carbonated. Complements the flavour profile in a general sense. Slightly watery, bringing it down.

Dr: Drinkable, a bit refreshing, and enjoyable. I'd have it on-draught. Its simplicity holds it back, but it's a nice little saison masquerading as a hefeweizen. I look forward to trying more beers from this brewery.

Extremely pale, more like a Wit in color. Quite flabby foam and some sharp carbonation. Nothing creamy about it. Extremely light mouthfeel and a tart sensation.

This tastes more like an American Wheat, and a pale one. There is just a hint of malty taste, but mostly it's club soda with a lemony note. This gets close to sourish and finishes with a bitterish twang. This doesn't seem to have much life in it. It's just oddly tart and lemony with a touch of dishwater.

From the 22 oz bottle bought at Wilbur's Total Beverage in Fort Collins.

This is quite a nice refreshing beer right here.

Pale golden, hazy body. Light 1 1/2 finger head, white.

Aroma whaffs about 4 feet from the glass. Banana, clove, some sweet apple and bubblegum. Some citrus and light baked bread upon closer nosing.

The banana seems dominant at first, then the citrus and biscuit come dancing in. The clove provides a minty-ness in the middle. As it drinks the beer offers a zest. Feels nice. A good zip on the end. Wheat undertones and slight noble hops provide for a crisp finish.

well done

this is a bit of a miss for me. a watered down American hefe, lacking the yeast complexity that makes these beers tick. it pours a slightly cloudy dull brass color, light as anything, with a one finger white head that's difficult to maintain as I pour. I get just a touch of ripe banana in the nose, and some herbal quality that's out of place, as well as a very light white wheat malt waft. it sort of smells like a neutral skin lotion, which is calming and a little sexy. the flavor stars great, the first second is fruity and light, very summery, but some metallic notes arise, as does some stale yeast. it tastes like a beer that's been left out in a summer rainstorm, got watered down, and forgotten about for a few hours as the sun came back out and baked it a little bit. its just a tad unpleasant for a second, before it finishes rather clean, as if to tidy up after itself. much appreciated there. fine carbonation and an excessively light body. this is a brewery that I know can do some incredible stuff, so this was a letdown for me. the good news is they've got 3 or 4 other bombers on the shelf waiting to be tested. im hoping I just picked the wrong one for tonight.
