Tried this one on recent visit to Vegas, too and I (still) like their "stout" the best. Anyway...

Served in 20 oz glass from the bar. Light, clear amber in color with no offending aromas--typical red/amber brew. Mouthfeel was good, though could've been a tad thicker. Taste was a little bit sweet with malt and caramel with a nice, clean finish and no hop bitterness. Not too bad; I could do a few of these while playing at the casino or with bbq in the beer garden.

Ok this one gets extra points for being served at a vegas casino where most of the patrons look like the cast of puppets from the mos eisley cantina.

The beer pours golden on the verge of red with a strong tan head. Nice lacing on a $1.50 draft which is outstanding for this town.

A word of warning, you do have to time your smelling of the beer around the smokers who look like they've had cigarettes in their mouths since birth. When you get a fresh breath it smells of sweet and caramelized grains with hints of light hops.

Taste is smooth and again sweet with hints of caramel. The roasted sugary sweetness is combated slightly by a thin hop bitterness but there isn't much hop flavor.

The finish is kind of dry and reminds me of an extract brew. The body is thin and there is a nice steady carbonation which leads to an overall satisfying experience. Again for a buck fifty in fabulous Las Vegas this one is find. Definitely a diamond in the rough and much better then the $6-8 swill they serve everywhere else.

20oz pour from the "brewpub" - served in a tall Weizen glass

A - came to the table with just a small layer of filmy head, off-white in color. the beer was a lighter Amber color, clear.

M - good whiff of caramel, brown sugar, some very light spice.

T - sweet, biscuity doughy malt covered in honey, caramel. very bready, just a twinge of earthy hop bittering near the end.

M - thin bodied, carbonation is a little of the lighter side but actually a good thing. finishes clean with some lingering caramel.

D - quite drinkable actually, a "good" Amber that does the job.

On-tap at Ellis Island Casino & Brewery in Las Vegas, NV on 8/14/07.

A: The beer is a light amber color with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of caramelized malts, spice and a little bit of hops.

T: The taste is malty with flavors of caramel, spice and very pale hops. There's a weird bitter bite to it that may or may not be from the hops. It was tough to tell. Either way it was not very pleasant. The after-taste is bready and slightly bitter.

M: Crisp but not very smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, very dry finish.

D: Not very tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, decent representation of style, to be perfectly honest, I didn't like the beer at all. Even with the cheap price, almost anything would be a better choice.

Tasted on-tap 02/26/07 at the Ellis Island Casino & Brewery in Las Vegas, NV.

Nice bronze-ish/amber color with a low off-white head. Nicely balanced and not sweet at all like many brewpub Amber Ales are. Hops weren't really noticeable from a character perspective - they were just there for balance. Medium bodied and smooth. An easy drinking Amber.

Would have had again but the Oktoberfest and Stout edged it out...

On Tap @ Ellis Island 05/08/2008. Served in a standard pint glass.

A - Medium reddish color, small head, poor retention, spotted lacing. Not bad, but nothing spectacular here. Transparent body.

S - Some mild caramel malt notes, rather sweet but faint.

T - Sweet malty body with a watery finish. A bit one sided, but certainly not bad.

M - Light bodied, medium carbonation level, water like consistency.

D - Nothing much to report here, not bad for only $1, but not something you'd talk about or even remember if you didn't take notes. Take it or leave it.

Served on-draught into a pilsner glass at Ellis Island Casino. I can't complain about the price. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a two finger head of beige colour, nice cream, and good retention. Body colour is a clear copper. Vibrant. No yeast particles. No bubble show. Appealing.

Sm: Amber-typical hops, clean crisp malts, and straw. An average strength aroma.

T: Clean malts, generic amber hops, and crisp barley. Mundane and simple. Imbalanced. Poorly built. Malt extract is obvious here.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Overly present on the palate and too heavy; again, malt extract seems to be the offender.

Dr: Drinkable but lacking complexity or anything remotely interesting. I wouldn't get it again. It's good for the $2.00 price tag I guess.

Appearance: Clear bright red to slightly pink, no head. It really looks like a wine cooler.

Smell: Syrupy cherry scent much like those flavor syrups they use at coffee joints.

Taste: Fruity, fake cherry flavor with a lemony maltiness. It's not terrible, but it taste more like a wine cooler or a malternative than a real beer.

Mouthfeel: Very very thin. It's more like juice with some sugar and the possibility of alcohol in it.

Drinkability: It won't kill you, but you'll feel dirty after drinking it. I'd recommend avoid this beer. In fact, I'd recommed avoiding the entire establishment.

This beer poured a light amber (coppery) color with white foam that left lace. There was almost no aroma detectable (however, I give it the benefit of the doubt as my nostrils were being bombarded by the intense cigarette smoke in this place). The taste was very thin, but malt and a bit of floral hops could be tasted. The body was very thin with moderate carbonation. The drinkability was average. This one is a little better than the Light and Dark, but still suffers from being too thin.
