Pours a beautiful amber color with a soapy light tan head. Gorgeous amber ale. The nose has biscuity malt notes and a nice fruity hop aroma.
The fruity hops are forward on the taste with that delicious biscuity malt following for balance. The medium mouthfeel is a bit dry and works well with this beer.
This is my first beer from these guys, and I’m really digging this amber ale - and I’m a big believer in the amber ale as a style that doesn’t get the respect it should receive in the beer nerd world.

Thirsty Goat from Thirsty Planet Brewing. 12 oz bottle of grocery store beer. Stored in refrigerator. Reviewed 3/11/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on label “Best before 11/22/21”. Served at 56.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried glass coffee cup. Final temperature 60.9 degrees.
Appearance – 3.75
First pour – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear. When rear-lite, same but hazy with tons of suspended particles.
Head – Average (Maximum four cm, aggressive center pour), floral white, short retention, diminishing to a three mm crown and a complete rocky cap. Second pour produces a 0.8 cm cap.
Lacing – Fair. Band of tiny to small bubbles
Aroma – 3 – Initially toasted malt, slightly sweet, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 3.5 – Taste follows the nose but slightly bitter, no hops, no yeast. Sweetness builds in the aftertaste. No ethanol (6.8 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Oddly enough, moderate gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3.5 – Thin, watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Quite average example of a red ale, malty and slightly bitter.

12 oz. Bottle into pint glass
Batch no. 398, Brewer Kuchar, Cellarman Ericson, Packaging Stanford. Yes all this on label.
Look: Three finger head, slow to dissolve. Nice lacing. Color of whiskey or watered down cola. Aftertaste hangs around a bit.
Feel: Light carbonation
Smell: Medium malt.
Taste: Medium bitterness.
Overall: Style is not my cup of tea but if you like this style you should enjoy it.
