I've tried a good number of Session IPAs but generally have found them to be rather lacking in both body and taste when compared to other IPA styles. Training Wheels is a solid exception to that generality - somewhat light in body but definitely not in taste. Probably the tastiest Session IPA I've yet to come across. Delighted to see that it's being marketed in a can and some of those cans will continue to find their way into my beer refrigerator on a regular basis.

From the bottle, it pours a hazy amber with a nice just off-white head that slowly reduces to a thin layer. Tropical fruit in the mouth. The mouth gets a light malt flavor overlaid with hops. A nice session IPA!

A- Bomber poured to three pint glasses with a golden body that is slightly hazy. The cap is white and just over a finger with frothy consistency. A large pillow and ring leaves sheets and ample lacing spots.
S- Mostly hops but a noticeable amount of medium caramelized sugar comes to mind right away. Hops bring apricot, clementine, tangerine and mostly fruity notes here.
T- Fruity hops take more charge but I wouldn't call the pungent. The end of each sip brings a massive bread note and I think I know the yeast used here. Tangerine, peach, dank, pineapple, floral, resinous pine and herbal notes. Slight sweet cracked grains.
MF- Thin body because it is light thickness and lacks much texture overall. Medium high carbonation level and a light bitterness lingers in the end. Somewhat watery.
Each sip I like more and more in the taste but the body lets me down throughout the experience. Good hops character but not one of the premier examples of a very competitive style. At $5.50 a bomber would I get it again? Sure.

Flip-top growler filled at the brewpub.
Poured first round into my 25oz Pioneer stein #42, formed a 1/4" off-white head over the dirty straw brew. Head is promptly down to an uneven skim, with coating lace. Aroma is citrus and pale grains.
Taste starts with citrus and pale sweetness, goes lemony in the middle, and comes on with moderate citrus hops character through the close. One of the most lemony brews I've had to not have come with a slice of lemon it in. Mouthfeel is smooth, and drinkability is easy and thirst-quenching. Nice, and at 4.5%, one to have when you're having more than one.
