Had this before at a beer festival but it has changed.

Golden color with a foamy white head that leaves little lacing but keeps a thin layer on top.

Smell is light malt with some very light hop. No real detectable chile this time around.

Taste was well balanced malt with some hop bitterness on the end. Chile "burn" and flavor are much much weaker than it used to be making it easier to drink but not as good as it was the last time.

Not a bad chile beer at all, but the last version I liked more because it had more Jalapeno flavor and bite.

I can best describe this beer as a mexican adjunct lager with a hint of Jalapeno. Imagine a Corona with hot sauce in it, but, you know, actually worth drinking.

It's not an every day drink, but when the usually serve it, in the summer during the rib cookoff, it's a nice thirst quencher with a kick.

Haven't reviewed a beer in quite sometime but this one is a style I don't get to try all that often.
Served on tap at the Great Basin Brewpup in Sparks, NV. Walking distance from the Nugget which is where I'm staying this week. The beer is very straw yellow and clear. Looks very similar to a domestic adjunct light lager. Slight carbonation little to no head but some lingering lacing on the glass. Smell is of sweet grains and a hint of fresh jalapeno pepper. This beer has a phenomenal subtle pepper flavor that just sets it apart from anything else. Super light mouthfeel, overall a very light pilsner with a very big flavor! Well done and review worthy in my opinion.

Purchased at the brewery a week ago and sampled with the roommates tonight.

Poured into a New Belgium globe.

Appearance: Originally had a thick, foamy, head on top, but that dissipated to a thin white crown in no time. Body is bright, crystal clear, and very pale gold in color. Very light carbonation, possibly due to the age of the growler. Wispy lacing.

Smell: Mmmm... jalapeños. This smells like high school football game nachos, and I mean that in the best fucking way possible. I absolutely love the nose! This is the first chile beer I've encountered, and I'm already dying to try some more!

Taste: Lighter than the nose, but not by a lot. Jalapeños loom large, but malted grains come in for some nice balance. Beer finishes with very light spiciness, but it's an oily spiciness that definitely builds with each successive sip. As a big hot sauce fan, I'm in heaven. This is such a unique and delicious beer. I'd give it a 5.0, but I think that'd be a little presumptuous given this is my first chile beer.

Mouthfeel: Light and oily, but not too oily. Mildly carbonated with nice mouth-coating, leading to that building spiciness mentioned above. Very refreshing and balanced. I dig!

Drinkability: I could imagine getting tired of this, but it hasn't happened yet. I only got a single pint from the growler (since it was split four ways), but I would have loved a second glass (I think).
