I guess you can't trademark the name Cowboy Coffee, because I drank one from Big Sky a year or two back. Not that its a problem, this was tap only, once.

Anyhoo, dark middle of the road black and brown. Looks nice, good almost 3/5" head on it, tan in color. Good sweet coffee aroma. Sweet and coffee isn't something that comes together in beer too often, especially not in the nose.

Taste, the sweetness is still there, but not distracting. Coffee still stands out, I've never heard of Magpie Coffee Roasters, but they apparently do good things, as least as far as this beer is concerned. Not a heavy roasty presence to the malt, probably because the sweetness and coffee keeps it from being as perceptible. They say there's a slight citric note to it, maybe that's where I'm getting the sweetness, but that would seem to lend itself to acidity, which this beer is not, its kinda smooth.

One of my favorite non barrel aged beers from Great Basin. Probably the best of Stout week.

Professional appearance, hits with the middle of the road black. Just under an inch of head on it, tan and beige.

Aroma, coffee is present, but not overpowering.

Taste, should be called coffee and sweetener. One of the sweeter coffee beers, but not beetus territory either.

Solid beer, would like to see this more often in the rotation, not just in March.

When you hit the middle of the spectrum between brown and black, you will find this beer 'right there in the middle' (fiddle music). Sweet look, more than 1/2" head on it, tan in color. Sweetened coffee aroma, not every day you comes across such a thing.

The sweetness is still there in the taste, but its role is not as primary as it was in the aroma. The malt isnt heavy or roasted massively, although the sweet and coffee roby tones will obscure that a bit, so who knows. Smooth, one of the best non BA beers Great Basin makes. Best stout of stout week. Put this bad boy in a bottle.
