So the OWNER of West Liberty Beer and Tobacco threatened to kick my ass today at his store... Long store short I was returning a keg a friend of mine got from for his wedding and the store did not offer him the proper tap. I tried to return the untapped keg and the Owner knew of the situation and told me he would only give me $30 deposit. He said the beer is probably spoiled and he cant take it. I called him out on his bullshit that storing the keg at 60 degrees would not "spoil" it but he wouldn't even let me speak and kept interrupting and answering calls. So of course after being so rude certain choice words were exchanged. I asked to speak with a manager and he said " I am the motherfucking owner!" So I gave up, realizing this guy was the biggest jackass I ever met so I started wheeling the keg back out to my car on the dolly and i finally told him to fuck off and he ran over and tried grabbing the dolly off me and said " You cant use my dolly now!" After getting the keg in my car as we are still arguing I said "I never met a motherfucking owner like you in my entire life!" He put his chest to mine and put his finger in my face and said "call me that one more time and Ill beat ur ass right here" Of course i did call him it several more times and he stormed off. Really thought he was gonna hit me though. Unbelievable that people like this own businesses and conduct them self in such a poor manner! BOYCOTT WEST LIBERTY BEER AND TOBACCO!!

Big warehouse-sized beer distributor right near the center of Pittsburgh on West Liberty Blvd. just a few miles South of the downtown PGH area .
Lot of craft/micro to be had although they don't put much of it into the walk-in cooler (bummer.) Other complaint is that the cases are rarely marked for price(especially in the cooler.) You have to frequently ask the guy at the counter to look it up or they will hand you their master price list .
Lot of imported stuff, lot of Belgians (prepare to pay out the wazoo.)
Lot of non-alc. drinks, too , by the case.
Cigars, tobacco products, as well .
Near my house so, it's my frequent go-to beer spot .
The owner also owns "McNeilly Beer" a few miles away and it's a 6 and 12-pack shop / bombers shop . The prices there are unfortunately, very very high/expensive .

The people here are great, The beer selection is also very good. I have been in this place alot over the last two years and never had a bad time, heck they even entertained my son with some pallet hockey while i got what i needed.. The prices have gone up and up again. so know your prices before you buy. Otherwise great place and good selection.

When I lived in the South Hills this was the place I stopped at the most when heading to sporting events in the city. Located right before the Liberty Tunnels.

You are more than likely not going to find any 'rare' or 'whale' beers here, but they do get a lot of seasonal and one time release beers.

Local: Penn Brewing, Full Pint, Church Brew Works
State: Victory, Troegs, Yards
Other: Stone, Rogues, Bear Republic, Great Divide, Founders, Terrapin, Dogfish...etc

Service was fine, I pretty much looked around on my own but the guy working offered any assitance.

Definitely a good place to go for beers. Wide variety and extremely competitive pricing.

Probably the place I stop at most when I'm not on the hunt for something super crazy. Nice and clean inside, all the craft beer is located on an aisle to the right when you enter.

They always carry a wide variety of regional, and popular craft beers. Everything is in order (mostly alphabetical) according to brewery. There is also a very nice selection of Import, especially German and Belgian cases in the back corner.

This place seems to be able to hold onto special and harder to find releases a little better than some, as of yesterday there was still a case of KBS sitting on the shelf, along with Founders Nemesis. A few months ago I purchased a case of Stone RIS '08 at a great price.

Service is always wonderful, the guys are pleasant and always small talk about whatever I decide to purchase. Usually if I go in wearing some kind of craft beer shirt one of them will come from behind the counter and ask me if I need help finding anything.

Only qualms: sometimes random cases will not have prices marked, but an employee will be more than happy to look up a price or give you the list. They dont always carry the few beers I consistently buy cases of (Prima Pils, for one). The parking lot is small and turning left onto 19 can be tough at certain times of the day.
