I was in Vegas for half a week on business and took a half day to conduct a North/West side of town brewpub tour from 11:00 am - 1:30. The stops were in this order: Big Dog's Brewing Co./ Draft House, Tenaya Creek Restaurant & Brewery , and Chicago Brewing. I did a sampler at each location and substituted standard lagers, lights, and kolsch's for something hoppy or seasonal. I've provided specific reviews in BA for each location. If you're evaluating which brewpubs to visit in Vegas, here is my ranking:

1. Big Dog's Brewing Co./ Draft House
2. Chicago Brewing
4. Tenaya Creek Restaurant & Brewery

Tanaya Creek was stop number 247 on my quest to visit every quality brewpub in North America. In my book, Tanaya Creek does not qualify as a quality brewpub. I had a sampler with the wit, hefe, pale ale, nut brown, and a black lager. If you were drinking these beers with a blindfold, it would be difficult to detect the differences in styles. I suspect they may take the Rock Bottom shortcut of using the same yeast for many styles. I was unable to finish a couple of the samples and the pale ale, which I doubled down on, was the least drinkable of the bunch. The black lager was passable and the wit was ok - especially if you were scorching out in the sun on their outdoor deck. I had a difficult time with the server. She snapped at me when I wanted to sample a couple of the beers and I would pay for the complete sampler. She got all hussy at me and said she would have to charge me for the full sampler and I said "that is exactly what I asked for." When she didn't get it, I said "just give me the complete sampler." As she was pouring them, she asked which ones I wanted to sub out. This was all after waiting 15 minutes in a half empty bar while she did other things. On the plus side, this is the only brewpub of the three that had plenty of windows and outside light.

Went in the middle of the day so it was not busy. Service was outstanding and good beer selection of theirs and some other breweries. Looks like a great place to sit on the patio and watch the world go by.

Visited at 5 on a Friday. Space is a bit small, 15 seat bar and a half dozen tables beyond. Some outdoor seating too. 15 of their own and a dozen quality guest taps. It is a slightly sketch walk from downtown, but I found it fine. Electrical outlets under the bar rail to charge your phone, always a welcome treat. Will be adding to my rotation

A very small tap room, with a cheery guy with dreads behind the counter to answer all your annoying questions. The service was exceptional and the vibe was nice.I enjoyed sitting down and getting to know Tenaya's beers.

Last weekend I was in Las Vegas and hit up six breweries over the course of my trip, and Tenaya Creek was without a doubt my favorite. I was impressed by their house beers, especially their imperial stout which was only available in bombers and not on tap. Service was outstanding, our guy was highly beer knowledgeable and we were able to sit, drink and talk beer for a couple of hours.

Another great feature of Tenaya Creek is their unusually large selection of guest taps. In addition to Teanaya's 9 taps, they had 19 guest beers available; the list was well-curated and had some awesome options. Emphasis was based on both quality and variety, so there were lots of interesting styles to try. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who likes beer.

Nice spot. Guess they just moved in few weeks ago. Clean and new, and off the strip! Great deals on growlers, like half off Sunday's or something like that. Was quite impressed, selection of guest beers as well as their own was really good too. A nice all around selection.

Unfortunately you'll pretty much need a car to get to this brewery as it's quite a way from anything touristy, but if you can make it, I'd suggest a trip out here. The d├ęcor is nothing special, but it has a very welcoming, unpretentious feel with not too many features to remind you you're in gambling central. The bartender was super chill and suggested beers we might want to sample from the 10 or so they had on tap. The beers were really nice overall, especially the big beers they were pouring. Hoppy beers were a little oniony, but I was the only one who seemed to notice. Overall a really great place to escape from the madness and heat of Vegas for a few delicious brews.

Visited 6/20/2013 after day of golfing at Paiute, where the selection of beer really sucked, I was in need of some craft beer goodness.

Located in Northwest Las Vegas across from a hospital, Tenaya Creek features about 10 house beers along with a few guest taps from Lagunitas, New Belgium. Several house beers were available in bottles to go, but after trying one I decided to pass. Also serves hard liquor, not a bite of food. All the seats at the bar had the typical video poker terminals glaring you in the face. The help was nice enough, but the beer, to be honest, wasn't that good. With the new Aces and Ales location opening down the street, this place is in deep trouble. The IPA was under-hopped, thin bodied and one note in the finish. Pass.

Tenaya Creek is a great little watering hole that usually features 5 Tenaya Creek drafts (I love their Monsoon IPA, and Impy Stout. Both are seasonal), as well as 4 or 5 guest taps. The up side is the bar has a pool table, dart board, 2 big screens by the bar, etc. Down side is they don't serve food and there is smokin g inside. I am a non-smoker, so if it's nice outside, there is seating which I take advantage of.

Overall great little spot the has some good drafts, and some surprising guests taps at times (i.e. - Pallete Wrecker, Lagunitas Suck).

Figured while I was in this neck of the woods, I should try out this brewery, never been impressed particularly with their beer, but hey, I'm on this side of town.

I like that the place has the desert motif going, lots of brick, sandstone, and the granite countertops inside the place are pretty kick ass. And its nice to have a place in Vegas with adequate windows. The patronage is nothing special, and even the brewery employees seem to be a little different, never seen a brewer smoking cigs in the brewery and drinking a beer before. Service was good, although it better be on a Thursday afternoon w/ almost no one inside.

Quality of the beers are completely average. Same with the selection. Actually, the selection was less than average. Nothing barrel, sour, imperial, stout etc. . . just the usuals, I think the most exotic thing was a rye ipa, that was completely average. But i can say the beers aren't 'bad' of featuring any off flavors, they just suffer from that, same yeast strain, sameness of all their beers function, none of which are particularly adventurous. A decent place, cool looking, but I just wish there was more substance from within.

Not worth a special trip out of the way to this place, but it is worth a trip if you're in the area.
