2015 vintage. Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is jet black with mahogany highlights in the edges, as well as a tall, foamy, dense, cream colored head. Aromas of earth and peat forward, with subtle layers of chocolate, toffee, coffee, and vanilla. Smooth, sweet, and light. Flavors are heavily roasted and tangy sweet forward. Notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, and vanilla, all richly sweet, on a backbone blend of coffee, roasted notes, and subtle smoke. Very balanced and surprisingly light on a smooth, creamy body. Smooth and sweet aftertaste of candy-like chocolate and caramel. The sweetness lingers on through the smooth, creamy finish. Slightly cloying, but appropriately so. Very sweet, and the ABV is hidden very well.

Appearance: Pours coffee colored with a nice bubble show; the head builds to a couple of finger and leaves splashes of lacing
Smell: Roast, chocolate and slight berry tones
Taste: As with the aroma, the flavors of roasted grain and chocolate jut forward and build, through the middle; in the finish, there is a slight berry tartness that lingers
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: The reported infection has clearly started to impact this bottle but, at this stage, it added an interesting aspect to the flavor; I was sorry to hear that there was a lacto infection to this year's batch of the Igor series but I was lucky with two of the three bottles - the base Igor was not worth reviewing, unfortunately
