Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Crystal clear and very dark bodied color, sort of chestnut brown amber, with hues of red and orange. Fluffy topped three finger tall head, off white in color with good retention and lots of pill and ring like lacing. Very different and nice than your average bear, in the looks department.

Interesting mix on the nose. Sticky caramel and a bit of floral and pine like heat. Quite a bit of boozy sweetness is coming off this as well, but tolerable. Seems more headed into Imperial realm with this aroma, or at least borderline.

Nice simple palate. Almost chewy caramel, but with a nice leafy and herbal hop presence. Good mid palate tea aromatics, and the sweetness is much less than anticipated. Flirts with light session body feel but not quite, hints of treacle and brown sugar but considerably lighter in quality. Good herbal mint hop aromatics as well on the finish.

A pretty nice take on an IPA, and definitely stays away from sugary sweetness, but hints far larger on the nose.

Pours a light gold, yellow. Smell is herbal hops. Taste is much of the same, not much malt to speak of. Some resin and lots of herbal hops, but not much else going on. As far as IPA's go this one is middling at best,

Can dated 6/7:
A nice looking beer - slightly yellow gold, moderate haziness. Head is nice and white, and holds a rim.

Nose is pretty one-note, mainly grassy. Maybe there's a hint of malt in there, and maybe a hint of grapefruit pith.

Taste is similar to the nose. Takes a little warmth to smooth some rough edges. The result is a fairly grapefruit pith and grass moderately bitter IPA. Would like a slightly lighter feel, but it's actually a decent feel.

This is one of those that grew on me to be something I could grab once in a while, but I'd likely find a better alternative in most cases.

Nice looking IPA but has a sourish overripe fruit ressembling pineapple. Bit of cat pee which isn't my thing for the style.
