Appearance: Arrives with a muddy brown color capped by an inch of foam that leaves a few strands of lace behind
Smell: The Ranier cherries dominate the aroma, with brown bread and carob also in the mix
Taste: Brown bread and carob, up front, with a developing sour cherry flavor that offsets the sweet chocolate elements; the lactic tartness builds, after the swallow, though the sweet undertones linger into the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; slightly puckery
Overall: This is a really tasty fruit beer that is enhanced by the addition of Lactobacillus; a very nice balance emerges between the tart and sweet elements
