I noticed this Otto's location on a different route home from Ray's and decided to swing in and check out their selection which kind of ended up being a waste of time.

It's on corner of a busy, awkward intersection with a very screwed-up parking lot making it fairly hard to get into. Once I finally parked I went inside and immediately noticed I was the only white person there. Not unusual for the area, but the fact that the clientele was purchasing handles of cheap booze, MD 40/40, and 40's of malt liquor made me unsure of their beer selection.

That leads into my quality issue. They obviously don't move a whole lot of beer product, none of the craft section (pointed to by a hanging sign) anyway. I browsed over the shelf and cooler to find nothing out of the ordinary. The only surprise was Atwater Block, something I haven't seen in the Milwaukee market yet. Besides that, I turned to the singles cooler, a great staple at most Otto's locations.

This one was horrific. Out of all the beer I possibly wanted from the cooler, there wasn't a fresh one. Most were past their bottle dates, some so far out of range it made my mind spin. ESB from Sierra Nevada was way old, Flying Dog's DOGtoberfest was still there, Magic Hat's Odd notion of Winter '09 I picked up knowing it would probably still be good since it was in the cooler. The Mamma's Little Yella Pils, even in the can, had no date so it seemed ok. That was complete garbage.

Basically, I left with about 4 singles, relatively unsure about all of them (while semi-confident in Odd Notion). I checked out with a cashier that seemed nice enough to prices that were right on par with everything else around.

I can't see ever going there again and would never even recommend it. The freshness can't be trusted and I wouldn't be surprised to hear them eliminating most of their craft section. Pass on this Otto's

Stopped here a little while back at random, and wasn't inclined to add it to BA. Yes there were a few craft beers there, but the selection pales in comparison to just about anywhere else, even Woodmans/Pick N Save. As Andy said, the parking lot is extremely difficult, and I *may* have gone through the Taco Bell drive-thru (no stopping) just to get in there.

Selection was limited, and there was a bit of dust on the beer. I left with a bomber of Sofie, and a 4-pk. of Capital Autumnal Fire. Noticed they had the elusive Haffenreffer Private Stock (RIP Biggie), but only by the case, so I passed. A few seasonals here and there, and you might find something left over from last year too (for better or worse). Buyer beware here basically. They did have NG, Tyranena & Capital 4-pks., Goose Island, Dark Horse, DFH, Bells, Arcadia.

Cashier was wary of me and lingered over my ID for way too long. It was the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Go elsewhere for your beer fix, I wouldn't stop here again.
