Golden apricot colored with a dimpled orangey-beige head that settles out slowly. Aroma of orange rind, pine, subtle honey. Flavors of ruby grapefruit, orange rind, pine resin. Honey malt balances out the hops. Moderate bitterness. Noticeable solventy alcohol flavor, warms the cheeks. Rich and full mouthfeel. Good beer, not great. Would prefer more depth of hop flavor.

Raul sniffed it, Raul sipped it, and it immediately had Raul thinking... hmm... Raul was taken to a happy place that he couldn't exactly put his finger on. A ball pit full of Victoria Secret angels? No, but somewhere close. Eureka! This dang sucker reminded Raul of his first sip of that god nectar Pliny. Delicate, yet pungent west coast flavors meet a perfect smooth bitterness.

Raul says, "Yep! And Yep!"

First time having this under the Lupulin River name, previously a collab with Kern River. Pours a light golden color with a white head. Leaves some lacing. Smell is an interesting mix of veggie, weed, and tropical fruit. Taste is really oniony and dank. Some tropical fruit and berries. A touch of orange in there too. If I were to guess, this beer has either Summit or Mosaic in it. Maybe even both. Not too bitter either. First time I had this I swore it was a Pliny clone, but after the second (and now third) time I just get loads of that dank and onion. It's pretty awesome. Mouthfeel is light with a good amount of carbonation. ABV sneaks up on you. Overall an awesome DIPA. Knee Deep just doesn't disappoint.

Pours a clear dark gold. World class head volume, lacing and retention.

Quite outstanding nose of blended hops. Grapefruit, tangerine, pine mango, kiwi, orange, dank and onion over pale malt.

Medium body with an oily texture that is slick...some serious hop levels in this one. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent middle and a finely bubbled prickly finish. The carbonation / body balance is perfect...just enough to allow the flavors to pop and not interfere with the hop oils.

The flavor profile is world class - very complex but perfectly balanced. Intensity is just right allowing complete flavor separation while really letting them to pop. All flavors of the nose appear. It begins as a blend with pine and zest. A rich sweetness, with hints of caramel, arrives in the middle contrasted by a subtle moderate bitterness. Here the tropicals emerge and fade to the finish. Just before the finish the onion flavor arrives coupled with a bit of alcohol astringency. The finish is a slow fade that ends with an astringent zest and pine. A light alcohol burn at the back of the throat has a touch of dryness.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Deep shimmering bronze orange to deep brass yellow, with a very minor bit of opaque character for the body color, but big and shiny, with some nice plentiful amount of carbonation. Head is classic big and booming, four fingers, but made with control. Off white in color, even a little bit tan, creamy retention, island topped head as it settles and big staying power.

Fantastic hop aroma. Juiced up orange and a bit of weedy earth and green herbs. Hints to lots of zesty grapefruit like oils and some green earth sage and mint character. Tropical notes come in but with more citrus quality though. A bit of peppermint hot candy comes out just a little bit too making this a real playful sensation.

Palate takes a little bit softer approach, and more laid back simple character. Quenching and good juiced body, but a bit of one note aroma and flavor in the mid palate. Slightly earth pine and bitter astringency, with a finish that seems to improve though on first swallow. An extremely slow sweet build on the aftertaste ranging from, mild grapefruit oils to a bit of tropical strong bitterness like a watermellon rind. Malt presence is fairly non pronounced with not much discerning quality that even pokes out either.

Seems like it's headed for greatness but just goes to a solid IPA on the first sip. Decent, but feels like a disappointment since it seems like a great beer is coming but doesn't quite get there. Solid.

Crystal clear gold topped with a tall, creamy looking head that persists. Smell is, at first, more coniferous than expected with a fat sugar cookie base underneath. Hops open up a little more, getting spicy - almost like cedar, but certainly staying on the dank end of the spectrum. Deep, dank hoppy flavor brings the pine resin and weed, but also some peaches and grapefruit adding a juiciness. Nice medium body doesn't weigh down the palate...fluffy, dry, and bitter. Awesome.

Wang dang. So dank, erotic. My favorite IIPA at the moment. Wish I had 2014 chasin Freshies to side by side with it. And wish it wasn't 8 bucks a bomber.

A: Clear, golden lager like in color with a thin, white lacing.
S: The hops seem to punch you in the face, somewhat dank, hop oil galore! Tropical citrus and a tad bit of sweet malts. Oh and that pine!!!
T: Sticky hops, dank, dry finish. A somewhat sweet, tropical citrus base.
M: Medium carbonation, moderate bitterness, hops prickly to the tongue.
O: Solid Imperial IPA. I welcome Knee Deep to MA! I liked this one.

Printed on the left side of the front label: "11/16/16"

Appearance: The body is a medium gold with only a light bit of haze. The head is a very large, thick, creamy textured white cloud. There are bits of darker and lighter gold as the light strikes and refracts across the glass. It is a very good looking beer.

Aroma: I could smell the fruity aromas right after pouring the beer, before I even had a good look at it, and it was very inviting. There is this bold, rich, deep smelling tangerine that just sucks me into the glass. A light bit of a garlic aroma in the fringe of the overall scent. Fantastic aroma. I could sit and smell this all day.

Taste: That deep tangerine richness comes through with a ton of great fresh grain flavor. It is intoxicatingly good. There is a lot of that fresh tangerine flavor along with a huge amount of fresh squeezed grapefruit flavor. It really does taste just like a fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Then there is this long lasting bitterness that just kicks it into high gear with this bright character that just wakes the soul up. There is this very fresh tasting grain flavor that I usually only get when I'm drinking at a brewery. I'm sitting here trying to think if there is anything in this beer that I don't like and I am left speechless. It's perfect.

Mouthfeel: It has a good bitterness and it is an easy beer to drink. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice smooth carbonation.

Overall: I am having this beer at just over a month old and it is unbelievable how fresh the beer smells and tastes. I am on the opposite coast from the brewery and it is over a month later and I am giving no concessions for these excuses. I am incredibly impressed by this beer as it still tastes as if it was brewed in my kitchen. It is just incredibly good. The sheer purity of flavor in the beer is astounding. I will be buying more of this beer and looking for other beers from this brewery. I recommend this with the greatest emphasis.

On a side note I picked this beer up on a whim because I wasn't seeing very many Imperial IPA's on sale during the holiday season. I am incredibly impressed by this beer...enough that I will be looking closer at other beers from the brewery. The quality of beer in this bottle would rival any beer in any season.

The aroma hits of big sweet grapefruit, orange, bready malt, some pine dank.

The flavor follows with a big grapefruit flavor, floral, deep grassy, pine, resinous quality, a sweet candy sugar in the middle.

A really refined and well made West Coast DIPA. Very much on notes and level of Pliny.

Served in a flute glass straight from the tap here at Croxley's in Farmingdale, NY.

Appearance: Honestly beer looks intense, cloud body with medium bubbles all over. Seriously almost a golden opaque color..head is straight white (maybe half an inch) and drops after two sips or so. Lacing, just right...little sticky on the glass but settles even.

Smell: Heavy citrus scent especially after the body of the beer hits closer to room temperature. Grapefruit skin, light lemon.

Taste: Complex, you fee the citrus sweets with heavy floral feel with the right touch of malts. It's a little potent and honestly I wouldn't inhale the brew, the taste literally improves with the temperature dropping.

Mouth: Sticky and medium to heavy bubbles on the body. The after taste over powers anything you've eaten.

Overall: Great brew, you should hunt for it considering the other crap some Critics think what is good beer. The truth is I will have another before I leave the bar, Salud!

Fresh bomber into an IPA glass.

Look: clear rich orange-yellow with a huge head and lots of tiny bubbles.

Smell: hops heaven? Most similar to Enjoy By of things that I can bring to mind. Citrus, apple, dill/grass. Clean but rich.

Taste: sharp hoppiness. Some tropical fruit, dill, mild cedar. A hint of sweetness, but really mild and well meshed with the bitterness. Aggressive for sure.

Feel: damn near perfect. Crazy smooth like nitro, with medium/full body. Pretty dry.

Overall: I came into this with suppressed expectations—I liked Simtra and Deep River, but not as much as their reputations suggest. But this is a really solid IPA. As the name implies, fans of hops are clearly the target.

It's straight mosaic for me, which I happen to like. Super impressive for 8% abv, very smooth and not too boozy. One of my favorites from Knee Deep, right up there with Simtra (but very different).

A pretty gold color with a faint haze. A good-sized white head leaving plenty of lace.
Citrus and pine aroma.
I thought it tasted better than the aroma promised. Grapefruit, some lemon. Pine. Nice caramel malt background.
Just a great, nicely balanced beer.
