4th review from brewer. 64th on BA.
a) While emerging full fizz, it quickly flattens leaving unlaced glass but a densely opaque body.
s) Hazelnut & chocolate as promised, some smoke.
t) Likewise follows aroma, adds more smoke, charred wood, cedar.
f) Never cloying but too sweet for me. Syrupy, but not thick.
o) Higher marks for getting it right and originality. As promised.

Pours dark and thin. Great hazelnut aroma. Good nut flavor as well, light chocolate, slight bitter finish. Light bodied. Pretty good.

The Averys are gone & so begins my next brewery horizontal. Once again, I have a stash of CANs all begging to be added to The CANQuest (tm)! This shall be my first of the day.
From the CAN: "Fine Craft Beers"; "Chocolate Hazelnut Milk Stout"; "40 IBU"; "Stout brewed with Cacao Nibs and Natural Flavor added"; "Contains Lactose".
As you may recall from many other reviews, I am not a fan of sweets, making this sort of an oddball for me. No matter, I CAN always Crack! open CANother CAN of something else!
Following the Crack! of the vent on this one, I beCAN a slow, steady, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It was really carbonated & following a pseudo-cascade, it evinced a rolling, fizzy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head that quickly fizzled into wisps. 8=( Color was coal Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose smelled much as advertised - chocolate & hazelnut! Mmm. I have a couple of jars of Hershey's chocolate & hazelnut/almond spread & although they are not my first choice, they CAN make for a nice spread on toast some mornings. This beer was VERY evocative of the chocolate & hazelnut spread! Mmm. Mouthfeel was surprisingly thin, especially for a Stout. 8=( The taste was liquified chocolate & hazelnut spread! Mmm. Finish was sweet, making it a one & done for me. YMMV.

Not sure if it’s a bad can, but this beers taste flat. I get, chocolate, coffee, smooth flavor but this beer is flat. I like the flavors, I’ll try this beer again and see if it was just a bad can.

Dark brown with a small brown colored head.
Smells strongly of hazelnut. Roasted grain and coffee scents are slightly less than the nuts. Patent malt but the Hazelnut is really strong.
Starts out mildly sweet and nutty with some coffee after taste. Tastes strongly of hazelnut. Does it taste like Nutella? Not really needs more chocolate. Chocolate is in here but the nut is just way stronger. After it warms up it is still a hazelnut beer before it is a stout.
Mouthfeel is OK.
Overall this is a nut beer more than a stout.
