Bottle shared by Darrell. Thanks man.

The beer appears a murky orange color with a small, white head. Decent aroma with hops in the front and sturdy malt bill behind. A bit sharp on the palate. Hops first, followed by a healthy malt presence. Not balanced particularly well. Medium bodied with solid carbonation. Lingering pine and hops with subtle notes of alcoholic warmth. Overall, an ok beer.

On tap at Mohawk Bend in Echo Park.

A: Nice honey amber, not too cloudy and not too clear, nice soapy head. Looks pretty standard, quite inviting.

S: Smells really nice, lots of citrus hops followed by some more earthy piny hops with a fair amount of softer biscuity malt, really pleasant and extremely fresh smelling.

T: A bit lackluster, nice citrusy hops at first, a bit of malt, a little watery and bland at the finish. Fair amount of grassy vegetal elements as well, not much of the earthier piny hops from the nose. Not unpleasant by any stretch, just not as exciting as the nose lead on, alcohol is completely hidden which is nice.

M: Nice big body, not overbearing. A little bubbly at times, pleasant and good to the style.

O: Pretty enjoyable double IPA. Flavor was lacking at times, but the nose was terrific, really nicely done.
