Amazingly floral.
Smells wonderful. Big citrusy burst of aroma, matched and then some by the flavor.
This is crisp and light with a wonderful finish. Delicious and delightful.

Pours a hazed golden color with a large fluffy white head it recedes to a fresh cap. Dank citra with tropical fruit and sweet caramel malts. Taste has a nice citra burst with with nice passion fruit notes with lemon /lime and citrus. Medium carbonation with with a citra forward taste. Not bad at all ,had no problem finishing bomber.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this bottle! Bottled 11/3/16.

A - Medium copper colored pour with thin creamy head, but dense. Lacing is dense, thick, and sticky. Carbonation is light and steady.

S - Smell has faded quite a bit (my fault for sitting on the bottle this long). Aroma is caramel malt and light citrus grapefruit and a little sticky smelling.

T - Balanced with caramel malt blending into juicy grapefruit and finishes in a sharp grapefruit bitterness with a lightly spicy edge. Bitterness lingers with grapefruit and caramel sweetness.

M - Big medium body, gentle carbonation, a little watery on the finish.

O - This is a nice pale ale, wish I didn't sit on it for so long. (Was saving it for the holidays to share.)

Poured into a Nordic pint glass, bottled 11/08/16. Pours a very bright and attractive yellow, with a 3 plus finger white that leaves a wall of lace behind.

Smell passion fruit, lemon, pine, tangerine, and grapefruit rind.

Taste is a tad more aggressive passion fruit, guava, lemon, pine, and grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is almost medium, plenty of life, a whisker dry, and very drinkable.

Overall this is a very nice brew, earth shattering not quite, especially for the steep price tag. That being said they are starting to can beers and the price will be better soon.

poured from a large bottle

unsure of date, didn't have it on the bottle

pours a pretty clear darker amber / orange

taste - much more malt than i expected. maybe it was an old bottle? it didn't taste super fresh but was still really good. certainly hop forward but the malt sweetness was more present than i expected, a caramel sweetness. it nicely balanced with the hops. didn't fully get the in your face juice citra i was expecting.

medium mouth feel, nice carbonation

A: Poured from the bomber into a Duvel tulip. Body is golden-orange (more orange) with a half-finger white head. Some lace.

S: Modest nose - caramel malt base and some mild citrus, mainly orange and orange peel.

T: Follows the nose, with a caramel malt foundation followed up by citrusy hops (lemon, grapefruit peel) and just a touch of pine. Good balance between the two.

M: Medium in heft. Slightly sharp carbonation.

O: Very good. This was discounted, price-wise, which prompted me to give it a try. At the price I paid for it (about $4), this is solid. Not gonna blow anyone away, but a good American IPA.

Look: light orange, extremely clear, nice fluffy white head. A perfect looking beer
Smell: Tropical hops,a touch of resin, a little malt
Taste: Starts sweet and ends with a bitter finish with a touch of alcohol heat (not in a bad way). Some caramel malt, some citrus and light fruity flavors, some pine/resin.
Feel: Nice sipper, leaves a resiny coating in mouth, smooth mouthfeel
Overall: I wrote the above before and rated it before reading the below reviews. I am shocked how low some of the ratings are. It tasted good to me.

A: Pours a relatively clear medium golden honey in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate amounts of copper highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit zest, citrus/lime, and tropical/passionfruit hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of caramel + toasted malts. There is a light aromas of cat piss hops that becomes a little more prominent as the beer warms up.

T: Upfront there is a light flavor of toasted, caramel, and grainy malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit zest, citrus/lime, citrus/lemon, and tropical/passionfruit hops which contribute a light amount of bitterness which lingers for a moderate amount of time.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp initially with just the most subtle hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Very easy to drink and enjoyable - hard to pass up at $3.75 a bomber also. Refreshing with a pleasant amount of citra hop aromas + flavors without being overly bitter. About halfway between an APA and a session IPA in mouthfeel with extremely well hidden alcohol.

Deep golden with persistent bright eggshell head. Aroma reminds me just like a Citra flavored jolly rancher I had. Taste is similarly clean with tart lime transferring to bittersweet passionfruit and concluding with a sweeter guava. A decent amount of malt sweetness: doughy lemon bar. Really fine carbonation, builds up in the stomach. Twangy hayseed, really soft feel.

Aroma is a little hoppy for a pale, but wonderfully balanced in taste with malt and hop, but maybe just some more bitterness.

Big bottle, fresh, copper in color, filtered, ample white head, delicious hoppy aroma and taste. Enjoyed this from start to finish. It was nice also that it was not too strong.

Look: It has a clear golden color with a slight off white head.

Smell: It has aromas of grapefruit, citrus, and lime.

Taste: The flavors are similar to the aromas with the attention of some grainy elements.

Feel: It has a moderate body with moderate high bitterness.

Overall, the hop assertiveness is highlighted by grapefruit and lime which dominate the aromas and flavors.

3/4" dense khaki head stands atop a brew of a deep golden colour, holding it's retention fantastically and leaving trails of lace on the way down. Clear cut aroma of oranges, lemon peel, grapefruit. Subtle pine and malt sweetness.

Decent flavours on this brew; a big punch of citrus from the star hop delivers lemon peel, oranges, lime, grapefruit, giving way to tropical fruits: pineapple, guava. Malt backbone delivers soft notes of cracker, bread, lemon candy, caramel.

An almost average brew with an almost perfect mouthfeel, they really nailed it here; light bodied and very juicy. Just a touch of dryness, but the citrus flavours that linger literally kept making my mouth water. Extremely smooth and clean. Light bitterness. All around a good showcasing on the citra hop. Cheers.

T: as it should be, citra is prominent from start to finish; lemon and pine also evident in the middle; some caramel noticeable up front and on the finish; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: as a big citra fan, I love this;

22 ounce bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Pours a golden orange color with a bright white fluffy head, good amount of carbonation, good head retention, beer is clear, some lacing.

A: Guava, grapefruit, citrus peel, very pungent, no alcohol on the nose.

T: Taste follows the nose with guava, grapefruit, citrus peel, garlic/onion taste, moderate amount of bitterness, good amount of malts to balance it, drinks more like an IPA than an APA, very tasty.

M: Light/medium bodied, good amount of carbonation, dry finish.

O: I will say that I enjoy citra hops, so I am partial to any beer made with them, this is very good better aroma than taste, but overall a solid APA that I would probably drink more often if Knee Deep would put dates on their bottles.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle into IPA glass. It pours a golden-honey color with a humongous, snow-white head and lacing. It looks like a snow cone. It smells of lemon-grass, orange peel, caramel, and floral hops. This ale has a strong malt backbone with an IBU of only 45. I was somewhat surprised that the first taste I experienced was the caramel, followed by the citrus, and finishing with a dry hoppy bitterness. It's medium-bodied, with pleasant carbonation and an ABV of 7% which makes it easily drinkable. Overall, it's well-crafted and enjoyable. It would be great with seafood or asian cuisine. I think there are better APA's but I wouldn't turn Citra down.

BOD 11/4/15. Pours a clear gold with a bit of amber. Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.

Outstanding nose of grapefruit, passion fruit and a touch of lime over pale malt with a strong dose of grainy biscuit.

Heavy light body that is smooth with a hint of oiliness. Superb carbonation level that is in balance with the body. The middle has a bit of effervescence and the finish is prickly.

The flavor profile is quite outstanding and allows the Citra hop to shine. Intensity is appropriate for the style, as is bitterness. Balance is world class. It begins with grapefruit then flows into a moderate middle bitterness. Passion fruit emerges post middle bitterness over a fairly sweet base (cracker biscuit) with notes of caramel. Towards the finish, a lime influence emerges creating a nice contrast with passion fruit. The finish is a slow fade of slightly sweet zest and lime with a slight dryness coupled with an earthy dankness.

Trying the Citra EPA at Yards in Roseville. The beer poured a copper clear with thin white head that is leaving a lace. The scent is not as pungent as I was expecting but still did not disappoint....citrus and pine presence. The taste is nicely balanced but finishes slightly bitter. There is grapefruit and pine flare. The Mouthfeel was fuller in body with smooth carbonation. It actually was much thicker than expected. Overall this beer is quite nice.

pours a very slightly hazy yellow/orange, but can still for the most part see through this brew. good decently foamy had that dissipates quickly. the smell is great, lots and lots of great citra-hop citrus: lemon, orange, grapefruit, with a light malt smell. taste follows the smell perfectly, all of the previously stated citrusy fruits, plus that light malt backbone that showcases the citra hops well. feel is very good, nice and light and crisp. great pale ale out of Cali, glad it made a its way to CT, would definitely seek out and buy again.

A little too dark to qualify as a pale ale was my first thought. Mild white head disappears quickly and leaves few traces. Citra aroma was pretty mild I thought. Comes out better as it warms.

Soft citrus and tropical notes on the tongue. Way too much crystal malt I suspect, too much woody toffee and caramel notes dwarfing the single hopped citra. Makes me wish the mouthfeel was drier.

22 oz bottle from September 2015, poured into Belgian ale glass.

L: Nice 2 finger foamy head with plenty of lacing and retention. Pleasant amber color.

S: Nice grapefruit and tropical fruit, light malts in back.

T: Doesn't quite live up to smell. Citrus up front, but somewhat muted. Mild pine finish.

F: Reasonably well-balanced, moderate carbonation, medium-dry finish.

O: Might have needed a fresher bottle; could be a simple as that. Not bad.

On tap at ABV.

A clear light amber with no head, this looks decent. The nose is all about the Citra hops. In addition to the usual aromas of grapefruit and some tropical fruit, what's particularly impressive is the pungent nature. Malt character is minimal, a little caramel. The palate opens clean, bitter, pungent with grapefruit, orange, melon, and with sine citrus zest as well. The higher than expected ABV lends a fullness to the palate, amplifying the resiny hops and allowing their clean expression to shine. Drying, bitter on the finish with pine, grapefruit, melon and some passionfruit, this beer is moderately carbonated and is quite delicious. Recommended.
