A: The beer is clear yellowish amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down a bit but consistently coerced the entire surface.
S: There are moderate aromas of pine resin hops in the nose along with some notes of grapefruit.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but is a little more evenly balanced between the flavors of pine and grapefruit.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a little thick on the palate with a little crispness and a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer definitely tastes strong, but the alcohol is relatively well masked from the taste. There is also a good balance between the malts and the hops.

Light gold to straw yellow in color with moderate haziness due to intentional lack of filtering. There's an inch and a half of creamy and frothy eggshell white to tan. Heavy lacing. I smell floral to herbal mosaic hops with a hint of pine and some light malt. The taste is initially mosaic hops and then I detect pine and biscuity malt in the middle and back of the palate. The mouth is fairly sticky, resinous, and lightly gritty.

L: Pours brilliant deep amber under a 2” cream colored foam collar that grips the side of the glass.
S: Citrus nose blended with fresh mown grass.
T: Deep malt profile supports and balances lemon, orange and grapefruit rind bitterness and fresh fruit flavors.
F: Creamy medium full body, medium to low carbonation, soft and fine.
O: Big hop loaded Imperial IPA with a balancing malt profile.

Bottle (2013)
Thanks for sharing this with me, Nathan!
A big triple IPA that hides the alcohol fairly well with decent amount of bitterness but a lot of sweet malt character as well. Drinkable, and perhaps I'd try a glass on-tap, but once was enough for me as far as bottles go. The hops do lean toward a passion/citrus fruit arena though. Definitely worth trying, but not a world-beater.

Bottled 7/4/13 no hints of age drinks super hoppy. Imperial pint glass full of this liquid glory is a happy one, pours deep copper slightly hazed with hop proteins, full thicket of cream head. Aroma is full of dank hops, including tropical fruit notes, big citrus and grapefruit tones, with pine and herbs. Drinks satisfyingly smooth for such a big beer, the 11.3% abv provides a decent alcohol burn and the malts here bring candied coated hops to mind, very big intense flavors not for the beginner in the realm of hops. This beer coats the palate with honey coated hops and big layers of bitterness and hop flavors, citrus mango and pine needles with a hint of herbal fresh mint leaves. Very tasty, the mouthfeel is big bodied with resinous hop oils, leaves the bitterness on the palate, but the carbonation level is so smooth it adds a bit of creaminess to the texture. It's like a hop milkshake, overall I'm a fan my first go round with Knee Deep definitely worth seeking out some of this big bad triple IPA.
