Above average. Just not for me. I feel like for a triple, its extremely smooth, not too harsh. But the cons for this are too prevalent. Very sweet at times from the ABV. I feel like the hops were under utilized. Simtra is a piece of work. I wouldn't call this the cousin for Simtra. I would say it's the 2nd cousin of Simtra and is 1 chromosome shy of benefits.

Pours a nice clear orange with foamy off-white head that lingers nicely. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, orange, mango, passionfruit and sweet malt. Flavor follows the aroma with bigger orange and mango and slightly floral flavors pouring through. Alcohol is warming, but not overbearing. This should be expected with a TIPA though. The feel is on the light side of medium, with moderate carbonation. Pretty good TIPA here. Recommended. My only quarrel would be that it needs a little more hop aroma to mask the ABV just a little more.

- Dated 11.03.15. Consumed 12.04.15 from a spiegelau ipa glass.

A: Pristine clarity on a light orange body with a good rush of carbonation. Two finger weathered white head has a foamy texture leaving macro patches of lace on the vessel.

S: Tropical mango-pineapple that is wet and fresh is first on the nose from the bottle with some wet oranges and passion fruit of good strength. Hints of wet grass, soft pine follow with an average rate of duration.

T: Dry and bittering pine and citrus peel meets a flowery hop edge. Bittering orange and toasted malt, bready, with dry hop flowers of good strength. Bittering lemon peel and flowery grassy-pine dry hopping closes things out.

M: Medium sticky malt body, lightly syrupy, dry and bittering from the hops with a warmth of the alcohol on the inner cheeks and tongue. Nice bittering orange-dry lemon bite comes on the swallow.

O: Good level of bittering, though liked the nose a bit better which was wet and fresh, while the flavor was more dry, bittering and toasted. Nice feel for 11.5% which goes down really nice considering, would of never guessed. Great hop wallop, with a generous dry hopping and flowery taste.

22oz undated bottle.

Clear gold with an inch-plus of white head. A partial skim coat for the duration with decent lacing.

Light hops in the nose. Pine and grapefruit, but was expecting much more aromatics.

Medium bodied with a crisp, resiny mouthfeel.

Piney sap, grapefruit pith, and some candied tangerine in the back of the palate. Seriously bitter, dry and resiny. Light malt.

Finishes with tongue -numbing hops and a sustaining bitterness.

A serious IIPA fix, but I think this bottle has seen better days judging by the lack of aromatics.
