22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/14/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light caramel, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with bright citrus/topical hops and moderate bready malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is damn nice IPA. All around good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

22oz bomber served in a 20oz Pint glass.

Bottled 4/30/14 so its fairly fresh.

Really good IPA. It honestly drinks like a double IPA. Typically I prefer really big hoppy beers so I generally only drink double or triple IPA's. Although, at 7.5 ABV and a big hoppy smell, I really enjoyed this single IPA. I personally love what Knee Deep does with big hoppy beers and I found this beer to be just a slightly tamed down version of Simtra. Overall a great beer.

Served in tulip from 22 oz'er

A definite change of pace from the usual IPA. The beer pours a nice, lively, sunny yellow beer with a fluffy, soft white head. The aroma is a nice mix of malty, piney, skunkiness. The flavor follows suit. The first few sips greet you with a very pale, muted, slightly chalky maltiness. The chalkiness reminds of the light, chalky dusting on found on marshmallows. The malt is married to a very clean, very dry (think belgian dry brews minus the yeast character) bitterness. That clean, dry bitterness sets the stage for a huge skunky, slightly danky hop profile that makes it's presence known. I get soft lemon and bright lemon acidity, grapefruit, and orange pith notes that surface as well. The grapefruit is the more dominant of the three fruits. What's interesting is about half way to three quarters through the palate the malt dances back in with subtle sweetness that falls off just after swallowing. The hops finish the palate off with moderate resin, moderate spiciness, including black pepper and piney notes. The hop profile is accentuated by its thin body and perceived increased carbonation, though I believe the carbonation is about standard for the style. This beer is for those who are tried and true IPA fans. A divergence from the usual IPA. A complex brew for sure.
