A: clear gold body, a full head of tainted ivory left laces down the glass

S: sweet candied fruits and flowers, citric and resinous, but definitely sweet, like with honey and caramel

T: sweet pale fruits, citric and resinous, with a muted bitterness that crept up and enveloped the tongue

M: medium-to-light-feeling, a little bit of stickiness, smooth and slick - drinks quick and easy - dangerous at this abv

O: really nice quadruple IPA (?) - barleywine strong but very lean, albeit sweeter than I'd normally go for - good drinking - recommended for big pale ale drinkers with a tooth for sweetness and high abv...

After having only two beers since New Year's eve, neither of wich were hop driven I was ready for a beer named Hop D-Ranged believe that.Pours into an oversized wine glass a clear rich copper color with a sticky half finger slight off white head, aromas of citric hops, sweet alcohol, and more sweet caramel, big alcohol sweetness mixed with a sharp pithy hoppiness is what stands out.A full almost chewy,it's a big beer and it feels big.Full on sweet alcohol on the palate with some drunken fruitiness before a big shot of grapefruit-like hops cuts into the sweetness...a little. The size of this beer makes for a whole lot of sweet alcohol burn but there is still enough hops make it interesting,I like it but getting through the 22 is a challenge.

This not for the faint of heart beer starts with a big grassy nose with a hint of mint over malt and grain aromas with light fruit.
It pours brilliant gold with a ½” quickly dissipating off-white foam cap that is quickly roused. It produces fine lace and some legs.
The beer looks deceptively mild but that illusion quickly disappears as the glass approaches your mouth. The beer attacks the palate with spicy cola, vanilla, melon, and malt flavors that slowly diminish under a barrage of hop and alcohol flavors. The bitterness reminds me of the kind of bitterness you find in a gin and tonic while the alcohol suggests bourbon.
Each element in this beer – malt, yeast driven flavors, hops and alcohol is huge but they are all amazingly in balance.

Personally, I think this is an amazing Quad IPA. Its boozy, balanced, layered and incredibly awesome to enjoy. Its expensive, but what a treat. Knee deep is seriously at the top of the extreme hop IPA game.

Tasted in a 10 ounce snifter at The Library Alehouse SM CA 4.19.13 First off, the nose has notes of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Great lace a resiny feel. Taste is almost too much to bear. I mean that in a good way. Pine needles, tree sap and surfboard resin. If you like Simtra you will love Hopoholic. Must find some more.

Super clear golden liquid. Large white head and and decent lacing.

Nose has lots of sweet malt and a strong but not over the top hoppiness. A hit of mint and leafy fresh hop cones. Just a whiff of alcohol, surprising considering the abv.

Taste is also a surprise. Sweet mellow, malty and very well hopped but not abrasively. Balance is the word over and over again. Finish is clean and short, with a lingering trace od minty hops.

Feel is supple and lightly creamy, smooth and highly drinkable. This goes down like a session ale, unbelievable.

Just fantastic. A superb brew that drinks like and IPA and hides the alcohol like magic. If you have time for only one beer and need to feel like you had two or three, crack open of these.
