12 oz. poured into a Mad Fox snifter glass (get to take home!) and drank over 30 minutes at the brewery (unknown creation date)
A: 3/3 - straw golden coloration, little clarity (cannot read or see through), tight frothy white carbonation settles into subtle glass lacing, moderate alcohol legs
S: 9/12: spicy Spalter hops, Belgo-saison yeast, some background malt breadlines but very subtle
T: 16/20 - mild grassy/herbal spice bitterness and Belgo yeast flavors up front; eventually develops with malt biscuit flavors in the middle of the mouth; dry aftertaste
M: 4/5 - mild bodied (appropriate for style), moderate carbonation (less appropriate for style)
O: 8/10 - solid saison similar to classic Belgian saisons like Saison Dupont; would be great in Summer but nice now too and, for $6 with the snifter, this is a total bargain; Prosit!
OVERALL - 41/50

"Pilsner malt with a touch of Crystal and Vienna malts for a bit of backbone. Spiced with coriander, ginger root, lemon peel, and orange peel for a fruity aroma. Late boil additions of Spalt Hops and a lower fermentation temperature for an enhanced spicy, dry finish."
The beer pours yellow-straw opaque with small-bubble edge lacing; some glass cling, but not much lacing.
The nose is classic Belgian, yeasty tart. Hints of Granny Smith apples, some light banana notes, and I can distinguish the orange notes as well. Seemed more complex as I took additional sniffs.
The taste starts as one might expect from the smell and style. The carbonation plays on the tongue as the somewhat sour initial taste fades fairly quickly. As the description reads, the finish is dry, and it lingers with some resin feel. In between, I don't get the complexity I noticed in the smell. There's a jumble of bubbles, tartness, and spiciness that doesn't quite create a harmony if tastes.
