Aa nice clean white head that dissipates quickly. Beer is a clear and pleasing pale gold look.

Nice strong, bitter, and herbal hop note. Light floral note that comes off as a bitter orange. Very sweet pale malt note that is very nice.

Body is a bit heavy for a pilsner but still light enough to drink in the summer.

Pretty good and interesting beer.

From tap to Pilsner glass at Mad Fox on 3/27/12
*From notes

A: Pleasant. It's a clean sunshine golden color, and arrives at my table with a .25 finger bubbly white head. Minor collar and zero lacing.

S: Cereal (you know, like breakfast), untoasted malts and grass.

T: Rustic earth and grains fill my mouth. It's got a pretty solid hop bite to it, which arrives on the mid and follows through to the finish. I get a real "Old World" vibe from this one.

M: Creamy and plenty of density for a Pils. It drinks rather well.

O: Not a half bad offering to the malt gods. I don't foresee Bill hoisting another gold at the GABF this autumn for their Praha Pils, but it's none the less an inoffensive and easy drinking beer. Enough complexity to hold my attention from start to finish, and it paired well with my Carbonara pizza.

Form the menu: "Our interpretation of a Czech Bohemian Pilsener, inspired by a trip to the Czech Republic by our brewer. Brewed with authentic Bohemian Pilsener malt made from the heirloom Hanka barley varietal and imported Czech Saaz hops. This beer has a spicy herbal Saaz hops aroma that follows through to the hop enhanced flavor, backed up by smooth malt flavor and a dry finish."

From 03/25/12 notes. Had on tap at the brewpub.

a - Pours clear, pale straw yellow color with two inches of fluffy white head and high carbonation evident.

s - Smells of grains, wheat, biscuit malts, bready malts, floral notes, light fruit, and light earthy notes. A tiny bit of citrus or fruit that makes it nice.

t - Tastes of grains, biscuit malts, bready malts, wheat, floral hops, hay, and earthy notes. Doesn't have that light citrus and a tiny bit of a step down for me.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation. Very light and crisp, an easy to drink pilsner.

o - Overall a pretty nice pilsner. Easy to drink and light and frefreshing, something I would give anough shot.

Half pint on tap at brewpub.

Pours a clear straw golden amber with a finger of creamy white head. Sticky rings of lace coat the glass with a steady stream of carbonation failing to retain any head. Earthy and lemon aroma, light grain and mild. Palate is full and well carbonated, not particularly crisp or refreshing. Grainy malt and a surprising amount of yeast in the flavor with lingering grass and earthy hops. Not a great pilsner, creamy and thick body with too much yeast.

On tap at the source, beer is yellow and clear with a nice bright white head, decent retention, moderate to low carbonation, some lacing, looks awesome.

Aroma is mildly bready, yeasty, with an interesting herbal qualilty / floral quality, this is probably this hop I've never had.

The beer tastes fine except for a very very unfortunate aftertaste that finishes the beer and then lingers. It is grainy with a hint of solvent on the end, ignoring that I sort of like this beer, it is sweet, light, airy, and has this nice unique hop flavor. The finish ruins this beer for me and I won't repeat it unless I think that has changed.

On tap at brewpub:
Pours a lovely yellow golden with no more than a chill haze. Head is visibly being sustained as a full-surface snow white covering.

Nose of noble hops, grassy to floral with a light dry bready sweetness.

Taste starts with a clean but nicely full burst of malt, flowers, and a bit of spice. Decently high level of carbonation adds to the spice. The sweeter biscuity malt gets consumed early by grassy bitterness though it fights to hold its own. A light metallic note near the end reminds me of some noble hops (but usually I get it in darker beers).

A nice beer, though not quite as light on the palate, though the decent bitter bite feeds the taste sensors. Unsurprisingly a well made classic style from Mad Fox.
