Served from a 750ml bottle into a Hill Farmstead stemmed tulip. High expectations. Slightly under cellar temps.

Appearance- Clear amber with two finger head that left nice lacing. Surprised how clear it is. Figured it would be cloudier.

Smell- A very rustic spicy, tart, funk that reminds me of Arthur mixed with a young lambic. Some mild earthy characteristics, woody notes, real funky yeast, lemons and limes, and maybe some pears.

Taste- Oaky funk up front that goes into a tart lemony/apple flavor. Earthy and floral. Similar to Arthur and Convivial but a little roast and very mild hop bitterness. Not too much going on, but what is there, is real solid.

Mouthfeel- Very, very light. This is more or less what the beer lacks. Body isn't really there. Good carbonation, but needs more viscosity to balance it out. The tartness is nice and mildly puckering.

Overall- A nice tart amber saison with nice flavors going on, but lacking in body. Tarter than expected, but that's always nice.

2015 bottle. Poured still. Amber color is right on point. Fairly lemony tart. It's an interesting contrast with the malty body. It does drink a little heartier than the others but it is difficult to get all the flavors with no carbonation. It's an annual release and the brewery let this beer out, so I'll rate the experience that I had.

Bottle onsite at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Bend, VT.

This one pours a nice golden amber color, with a big fluffy head and lots of lacing.

This smells like honey, grassy funk, herbal tea, bready malt, lemon, and toast.

This is really well done. It’s got a nice malt character for the style, with a nice warm toastiness and some definite breadiness. There’s a soft lemony acidity, and lots of hay type funk, and just a hint of honey sweetness.

This is light bodied and surprisingly creamy, with a great level of drinkability.

I had been looking forward to trying this for a while now. It did not disappoint.

Pours a reddish amber. Not much in the form of head. The cap came off easily, so I wonder if there were some packaging issues. By that, I mean that it didn't seem as tightly on the bottle as other Hill farmstead ales. Smells like many of Hill's saisons. There's that yeasty lemony house character. This carries though as far as taste, but there isn't much else. It's dry. I don't know if greater carb would have led to a more pronounced body, but it felt very thin. I wouldn't call this a disappointment, but it was pretty ordinary by Hill's standards.

Just came in flat, not even a half finger head. Flavor profile was good, right amounts of spice and acidity but really needs some carbonation where this had none.
