750ml bottle, dated 05.17.18, poured into a Half Acre "occult" tulip glass. Enjoyed on 07.07.19, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a nice amber and honey olor, cloudy with a white head that has great soapy lacing. The aroma pleasant, soft funk, assertive amber grains, citrus peel, a bit of spice and floral bouquet with mineral water as well. The flavors are right in line with the nose, amber malts and biscuity cereal grains, lemon peel, orange blossom and other fragrant wildflower comes across with some raw honeycomb and soft funkiness and mineral water. The mouthfeel is good, coating medium body that is lively and crisp with a lightly tart finish.
Verdict: A very nice amber saison from Grassroots/Hill Farmstead. It's simple and straight to the point but it's rewarding and very refreshing to drink.

Bottle onsite at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Bend, VT.
This one pours a nice golden amber color, with a big fluffy head and lots of lacing.
This smells like honey, grassy funk, herbal tea, bready malt, lemon, and toast.
This is really well done. It’s got a nice malt character for the style, with a nice warm toastiness and some definite breadiness. There’s a soft lemony acidity, and lots of hay type funk, and just a hint of honey sweetness.
This is light bodied and surprisingly creamy, with a great level of drinkability.
I had been looking forward to trying this for a while now. It did not disappoint.

A: (4.00) Fantastic amber colour. Deep and dark almost like a peach or ice tea. Decent foam quickly dissipates to a ring.
S: (4.25) White grape, grass, lemon, honey, cloves, pepper, biscuits. Lots of different saison/farmhouse elements with a pronounced white grape aroma.
T: (3.75) Tart/sour flavour up front of white grape and lemon transition to a sweeter orange, spice and biscuit malt profile. Very strong flavours with that pleasing white grape really taking centre stage. Dry finish.
M: (4.00) Good oily body with a moderate carbonation pretty near to style. Wasn't detecting a lower carbonation as others have pointed out. Might've improved with newer batches (bottled May 2018).
O: (3.75) A very flavourful saison. My preference for saisons leans towards more of a spice/grass focus as opposed to fruit, however this is nonetheless very delicious.
