750ml bottle into snifter. Bottled 8/2014.

A: Pours a clear pink color that’s a shade oranger than cranberry juice. The head is large and frothy, a pinkish-white in color, and very fluffy and thick. A thick film was left after the head subsided, and wispy lace was left down the glass.
S: The nose is full of semi-sweet lemon, grainy wheat, floral and lightly tannic hibiscus, and a touch of spicy yeast and a light mineral quality. As the foam dies down a lot of earthy characteristics come through along with some musty brett and mild funk.
T: Light and clean flavors of floral hibiscus, earthy and spicy saison yeast and brett, dry wheat, and just a kiss of sweet and lightly tart lemon juice in the finish. The finish is minerally and slightly chalky, with a drying and lightly tannic hibiscus aftertaste mixed with peppery spice. The flavors have a sugary almost fruity quality, that at times, is slightly off-putting. The hibiscus is very floral and not as dry and tannic as I was expecting.
M: Medium-light body, drying mouthfeel but not a desert, soft and frothy carbonation. There is a slight acidic sharpness to the brew that makes it quite drinkable.
O: A fairly clean and flavorful saison. The yeast profile is delicious, but the fruity almost fruit punch quality I was getting at times wasn’t my favorite. Still, I enjoyed this bottle.

Haven't had a ton of beers from Grassroots, but this was easily the best. Beautiful color, great smell and unbelievable flavor. The hibiscus adds this nice, slight sweetness to both the smell and the taste, but the lemon pairs this tartness against it that just sings. Wouldn't have thought to pair these together, but holy crap does it work. There's nothing in here that just knocks your socks off on its own, but the combination of everything is just fantastic. Lightly tart with a gentle citrus acidity but has the great nuanced sweetness from the hibiscus. Get this if you can.

Bottle. Pours a surprising pinkish color. Very hazy. It's a pink/orange tweener. Leans more towards pink, though. Even the head has an inner rosiness. Aroma is neat! Semi-tart. Pink lemonade, hibiscus and other floral things. Flavor is not much like anything I've recently had. Pink lemonade. Floral, citrusy, funky, flowery, red grapefruity. Very drinkable. Lighter bodied. Not too tart. A damn tasty treat for sure.
