The look of this beer caught me off guard, almost a pinkish red. The look would give the expectation of something very sour, but it falls inline with most of the rest of the HF bottles in taste. The "cleanest" saison I've ever had, a little funk with nice notes of lemon. I got almost no hibiscus in smell or taste. A very delicious offering as HF continues to impress me in everything I taste.

So hoppypocket just blows my porch the F#@% up last week with the biggest box of HF I've ever seen. Cheers and bro hugs from the west coast, I`ll be enjoying these treats all summer. :D

Pours a nice peachy-pink with some haze and almost 3 fingers of white head. Really nice nose. Tart floral notes and light fruits ...melons and berries, mineral and light yeast.

Floral, berries, light sourness, dry yeast funk, nice mineral softness. Below medium body, medium-strong but fairly soft feeling carbonation.

Great stuff.

The beer was enjoyable but the details are fuzzy.

I remember sitting at the bar and telling the girl behind the counter that the beer was, "good" when she asked me how I liked it, all the while feeling kind of nervous because Shaun Hill was three seats down from me.

Everything I have had from Hill Farmstead is -at the very least- good, so I trust my words from that night, but the brewer intimidation factor may have affected the rating on this one.

Will revisit with the bottled version this summer and add notes, if necessary.
