This highly sessionable spring fest beer is a refreshing, low alcohol ale with a fresh, hoppy character.

Hazy dark burnt orange with a persistent but short fluffy head clinging in tall ridges settling in lumps.
Semi-bitter woodiness pairs with toasted bread and orange rind as a mild fluffy carbonation fills the medium body before a semi-dry finish. On the exhale and with some time, elements of toasty brown ale develop.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy golden copper color with 2 fingers of sudsy white head. Looks like a dirty-ass penny. The head has excellent retention, hanging around for days before settling into a thick blanket of foam. Leaves an epic amount of sticky lacing as it finally dissipates.
The aroma brings notes of green tea, honey, lemonade, tangerines and mild grapefruit before a modest wave of toasted malts, grass, and piney hops.
The flavor is all about the toasted malt character. There are notes of green tea, biscuits, cereal grains, lemon, tangerine, and grapefruit, with a grassy, herbal finish. Very clean, with a subtle, lingering bitterness.
The feel is nearly perfect for the style: Medium bodied with good carbonation. Very clean and crisp, yet smooth. Exceptionally drinkable, like iced tea on a hot summer day.
Overall, a truly great pale ale that is incredibly crushable without sacrificing flavor. This beer is very herbal and floral, with a ton of toasted malt presence from beginning to end. I'd quaff this forever.

It was last spring when I had this, so I don't want to put a lot of detail in here and be wrong about it, but I can tell you that this collaboration (Hill Farmstead and Grassroots; both in Greensboro, VT) is one of my all time favorites; this is one of the most under-rated beers I've seen on here. Bear in mind I have access to all of Hill Farmstead's offerings as well as the top and several of the top beers in the world, and this one sticks in my mind as one of my all time favorites. Very drinkable and sessionable, and has that amazing floral character that is so distinctly Hill Farmstead.

another 750ml growly
It's a hazed copper ale with a solid quilt of soapy, dusty whites. Smells like tea, malt, hints of grapefruit, lots of english influence on this one, some grapefruit. Flavor is malt, biscuit, a little orange pekoe, some english yeast character. Pretty simple and devoid of the classic APA flavors. Medium bodied with hi carb and a wet finish. Although this absolutely misses the mark on American Pale Ale, this is a really nice assertive ESB almost. I like this beer, but would never recommend it as an APA (everything graded as such, except overall score)
