16 oz can poured into English pint glass. Full inch white fading to very tight clinging lacing. Color resembles a mix of pulp free oj with thin pineapple juice. One of a kind. Amazing for a beer. Stubborn thin head still remains.
Smell of tropics big time. Fruits, pineapple, mango. A true blend.
Taste of course follows the nose but a much richer experience as you would expect. Starts with a fruit burst followed by a hop bitterness to end with a smooth rich subtle hop exit. Sweeter but not syrupy.
You don’t get a refreshing cleansing finish, but you would never expect that from a beer this complex. More of a savior of each drink. Enjoying the lingering flavors as melt away
Enough carbo to tickle the tongue but not interfere with the flavor or feel. Just right. Hey! Lacing is still clinging to the very top of my glass. Impressive!
Much has been written about King Sue most, if not all, glowing. I can easily say this is a huge flavor beer but not over the top in any sense. A very different take on a simple double ipa but in a fantastic way. Think tropic versus pine. Not cheap but glad I splurged.

Look: Hazy orange with a two finger head that lingers for a bit
Smell: Tangerines, melon
Taste: Tangerine, citrus. Bitter on the back end
Feel: Fairly thick for an IPA
Overall: A big improvement over pseudo sue. A bit one noted, but its juicy without a ton of bitterness.

Pours the color and consistency of white grapefruit juice, topped by an inch of white suds. Gobs of yeast escape on the back end of the pour. Tropical aroma evokes pineapple, mango, lemongrass, apricot, and lightly grassy hops.

The taste is crisp and bright, featuring grassy, peppery hops and grapefruit pith against a backdrop of mild, biscuity malt. It's definitely hop-forward, as one would expect, but not cloyingly so. Medium body and carbonation produce a full, lively mouthfeel that synergizes nicely with the hops.

Overall, this is a bright, refreshing NEIPA with no glaring flaws. It is a testament to execution over concept, for what it lacks in complexity, it makes up for with hitting the mark as far as all the essentials are concerned.

16 ounce can in a fine stemmed tulip IPA glass.

Washed out orange juice colored brew with a 1-plus F white cap. The cap fades to a film and leaves light wisps of lacing.

Deep citrus rind, lemon and grapefruit. Tropical notes of pineapple. Hops, Malt, Sugar, Alcohol - Raw.

Citrus hop flavor, primarily grapefruit, stands tall with sweet pineapple and boozy malt.

Medium body, smooth and bitter. No denying its horsepower. Finishes sugary and with hop bitterness together.
This beer is above and beyond better than any neipa that I've ever drunk. Neipa, says who? Not me.

Packaged date of 3/28/19. Pours a hazy pale orange color with a 1 1/2 finger foamy white head. The aroma has oranges, peaches, mango, and grapefruit. Not as strong of an aroma as I would have expected. Tastes almost exactly like it smells. Just like with the aroma, I would have expected the taste to have more flavor. Light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. a good beer to be sure, but the aroma and taste are moresubdued than i expected.

On-tap at Pour Judgment in Newport, RI. What a beast of a beer. Definitely more bitter and not as thick as a NEIPA so kind of an odd characterization. This is more like a West Coast IPA and a damn good one. Proper!

L - murky straw yellow with a pillowy white head
S - sweet malt and pineapple with a hint or resinous hops
T - Sweet pineapple and grapefruit with a slightly bitter finish.
F - full bodied with moderate carbonation with a bit of heat.
O - very well balanced. A great example of the style. The alcohol is very well hidden

This is a good IPA, but world class I’m less than sure! I may be the only one, but I’ve found all the Sue’s only “Pseudo” consistent. Worth another go I suppose though based on these reviews, maybe mine was not well refrigerated before it got to me!

Had on tap at Orange and Brew. The look was orange and hazy, like a glass of orange juice. I smell a lot of tropical and citrus fruits, oranges, grapefruit, mango. Very nice. The taste is lots of fruit up front and a touch of hop bitterness. very well balanced.

Canned 03/28.

Pours hazy orange with a lasting white head.

The nose is orange, mango, pineapple, and menthol.

The taste is orange, pineapple, and chalky bitterness on the backend.

The mouthfeel is medium but a bit rough around the edges.

Overall, very nice but nothing special to my palate. 4.25

Can to goblet.

Mucho grapefruit, some pineapple.

Very nice. Better than Pseudo Sue.

Can #2 to snifter.

LOOK: Hazy doesn't quite explain; more like pulpy. Light yellow color. Big white head, amazing retention. The beer is presenting beautifully.
AROMA: citrus, lemon, grapefruit,
TASTE: sweet citrusy hoppy goodness. Pineapple and grapefruit. Like drinking hoppy air.
FEEL: incredibly smooth. A hint of a dusty/hairspray finish, but still very awesome.

A very nice beer. For some reason I thought this was not going to live up to the hype, but it does. One of my very top IPA's.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Trillium IPA glass.

Look is a hazy yellow with a thick white head.

Smell is a grassy herbal lemon with a biscuit malt underneath.

Taste matches aroma lots of herbal lemongrass notes with a light Candi sweetness.

Little thinner than I expected.

Pours a hazy light golden amber, peach coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and bright, juicy tropical/citrus notes of mango, papaya, grapefruit and orange, as well as a light, grassy dankness. Taste is a terrific balance of somewhat sweet, biscuity malts and bright and juicy citrus/tropical hops, the citrus dominating with a distinct orange juice character, backed up by grapefruit and lighter, just slightly acidic, notes of mango and papaya, with just a hint of a certain grassy dankness. Finishes with a medium, slightly acidic, bitterness and some citrus/tropical notes lingering in the aftertaste, as well as a bit more dankness coming through. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. A terrific, citrus-forward NEIPA with a distinct OJ character that is very well-rounded, with a great balance of sweetness and bitterness, as well as a nice dankness. While this is great, I also have to say that I don't really feel that it's any more special than any of the other great NEIPAs out there, and actually a little lacking in the mouthfeel department. I also think that this has 100 IBU in the same way that Heady Topper does, meaning not at all, actually. It's still more bitter than many of its brethren though, which is quite nice indeed.

Canned 3/28, poured into a tulip on 4/19. Pours a bright, murky orange with a white head. Smells strongly of orange and grapefruit with a bit of a dank hop bite. A bit of sweet bready malt on the nose as well. Tastes of bright orange and grapefruit without being overly sweet. Medium bodied, medium-low carbonation, and a dry finish. Absolutely worth the hype--a well balanced DIPA with a lot of character. Glad I finally found it.

Pours a hazy orange with soft, fluffy head.

Smell is juicy with big notes of citrus backed by mango, pineapple and a hint of peach pits and vanilla.

Taste is juicy and slightly grassy, with loads of citrus being joined by notes of pineapple and mango. Moderate bitterness and exceptional balance.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated. Not as smooth as I thought it would be.

Overall, a terrific IPA, maybe just a little bit too thin.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down, leaving a layer of bubbles covering about half of the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit and limes are present in the nose along with notes of gooseberries.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the gooseberry flavors are more dominant, with notes of limes and hints of grapefruit. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and rather juicy on the palate with a light to moderate amount of "bite" in the mouthfeel from the limes and grapefruit.
O: This beer is very juicy and has a lot of complexities in the smell and taste from the Citra hops.

Exceptionally well balanced. More damp basement than sweaty socks, but definitely lupulin rich. I think I might like TG’s Pompeii better for its ultra-hazy uniqueness.

Citra done right... A great New England-esque treatment for that Citra hopin a double IPA format... Pale orange juice golden in color, opaque, under a fluffy white head... Big citrusy orange zest on the nose, brightened with some grapefruit and lime... Drinks lean and taut with pith and peel, spiked by zest and bottomed by a certain dry dankness... The sugars are held well in check by the tangy bitterness, and the light coating that wraps the palate... Body is full, plush, with a little tacky funk...

Pours an opaque light orange with a one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly to a crown and left some spotty lacing. Smells of citrus and tropical fruits along with a bit of pepper. Tastes of grapefruit, grapefruit pith, orange, underripe pineapple, grass and a bit of black pepper. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, nice hop bite and lingering bitterness, lingering dry finish.

First it lures you in its den, then it shows you everything the citra can offer and then it doesnt let you go for a second with a horrific complexity as it warms you up

Pouring from a 16 oz. can into a snulip glass, this beer pours out like a thick, light orange juice. It’s completely hazy and forms a finger worth of rocky and somewhat loose crown.

The nose brings in citrus along with a slight detectable pine. Oranges, tangerine, pineapple. Pleasant, but could bring more prominence. I’m having to take pretty deep breaths here.

The taste comes in with a nice pineapple before turning to oranges and some peaches?. Some black pepper notes. Pleasant, but a bit one dimensional.

It’s soft, creamy and just floats through the mouth. It’s got a very slight burn to it, but I would say it’s more of a hop burn compared to an ABV burn. Mild bitterness. Clean finish.

Overall, it didn’t disappoint.

Pours a hazy orange color with a tall, soapy head and tons of lacing.

The smell explodes as soon as the can is opened. Loaded with citrus and a very green hop smell.

The taste is very fresh, green hops with a bitter finish and a lot of hop bite. Citrus comes through on the finish.

The mouthfeel is thick, medium carbonation.

This might need another week or two in the can. Nicely made beer.

Pours a super-hazed with 2 fingers of tight eggshell colored head. Great head retention, decent lacing

S: Orange blossom, grapefruit

T: Oranges, peach, grapefruit, grassyness up front. Papaya, tangerine, light bready dryness, white oak and green melon as this warms, peach as well. Finishes a little dry with a little grapefruit, tart orange & just a little papaya

MF: Medium body, fairly creamy carbonation, nice balance

Drinks pretty, easy, expected more from this, but one I would buy again
