Pours an opaque deep gold, with tons of floaties; white head, ok cap retention; solid ring; moderate lace with agitation. Strong dank orange and tangerine nose. Taste follows nose; weedy citrus/tropical fruit hops; sweet malt base; lite bitter hop bite; some onion as the liquid warms. Medium lite body; juicy feel; moderate carbonation; some hop astringency. Overall an excellent IPA; lite bitter linger; plenty of malt for balance; tasty juice hop flavors; would have scored a little higher if it didn’t look like a total snow globe.

16oz canned 8-6-19 and best before of 12-4-19, opened on 9-17-19.
1" fluffy white head, good retention and sitting solid at 1/2" even after several minutes. Opaque solid orange-yellow IPA.
Lots of fresh lacing clinging to all sides on the way down.
Ripe mango, oranges, pine, some initial pungent onion/garlic. Zesty. Green. Very intense aroma.
Flavors are a mix of citrus, weeds, tropical, vegetable - all on the zesty side, more bitterness than I expected - not sue why I expected a "softer" beer.
Medium to full body for the style, medium carbonation. Long finish full of the more green lean of the hop flavors here.
Different than I expected, intense flavors and aromas with more bitterness.
Good to very good.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Bradford's in Plymouth for about fourteen dollars. My 13th brew from these guys. Liked better than both regular Psuedo Sue, & Galaxy Dry Hopped, truly fantastic.

Canned 8/6/19. Despite the lower ABV this came across as heavier and less refreshing to me than Pseudo Sue. The Citrus is more robust also earthier and more bitter.

So I have tried all three Sue's that came to Pennsylvania. Is an extremely crowded IPA Market here, curious to see how they fare. If I can find it fresh I will certainly pick up pseudo Sue in the future since it is so tasty and reasonably priced.

Toppling Goliath landed in PA, so my first time trying this beer. I opted for the double dry hopped version of PS rather thant the regular version. Poured from a can into my DFH snifter glass.

L: A medium super hazy yellow gold color with a nice two finger white head. Decent glass lacing.

S: Unlike a lot of other reviewers, I'm getting a ton of dankness on the nose. Aromas of weed, onion, mint, vegetal notes mix with the citrus. A candy sweetness can be detected, but boy to me this is one dank smelling beer.

T: Different from the nose from the dry hopping, on the taste I get a lot more of the fruit and less of the dankness. Loads of pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, some mango and tropical fruits also. Still I get a bit of the dank pine and forest flavors as the candy like sweetness softens it out to finish with a fruity dry and slightly bitter flavor. No alcohol tasted at all, but with that ABV it's not surprising.

F: Medium mouthfeel, smooth and dry but not overly prickly or bitter and as I said no alcohol. Carbonation is spot on.

O: A really good beer, but not what I expected. I'm really glad I picked this version up as it was way different that I thought it would be, but still really good. Overall though, based on price I can't say I'll be picking this one up regularly and couple that with it didn't really "wow" me. Still, a really good beer that is well made.

World Class indeed! Easy drinking NEIPA and actually 6.8%abv according to the packaging! Still easily sessionable...per their website; "This double dry hopped pale ale showcases the Citra hop for a well-balanced beer that is delicate in body with a mild bitterness in the finish. Ferocious aromas of Citrus and Mango give a refreshing taste that is bright with just enough bite."

16 ounce can dated August 6, 2019. Poured into Trillium Six States glass.

L: Pale gold with a hint of orange. Initial 1.5F head reduces to almost nothing, leaving not much trace. Hmm...

S: Largely tropical mango and papaya, very Citra in nature. Some earthiness.

T: Follows nose, it's all Citra hops and ripe tropical fruit, light cracker malts, and earth and pine on the finish.

F: Lightish body, light to medium carbonation. Construction and balance more or less the same as regular PseudoSue.

O: A bit more flavor and earth than PseudoSue, pretty similar when it comes down to it.

From the can. The nose is papaya, mango, citrus with a touch of pine. The taste follows it well with a little more citrus presence than the nose suggested. A little bit sharp from the citrus, but it’s not bad. Carbonation is evident; soft and airy, leaving you burping.

Overall, it’s not the best thing ever but it’s a nice beer. The can doesn’t state the ABV, but if it really is only 5.8%, it’s got a fair amount of flavor and bite for something of such. My guess would be closer to 7-8% though.

16 oz can poured into a weizen glass.

Hazed-out, cloudy blonde. 1/2 finger of creamy white head.

Passion fruit, mango, papaya, dank, wet florals, forest floor, and candy sugar.

Passion fruit, mango, and papaya. Light dankness with pine needle and wet forest floor. Light candy sugar sweetness.

Medium bodied, crisp, effervescent, and off-dry with spiky carbonation.

Surprisingly not as aromatic and flavorful as the standard Pseudo Sue which was canned around the same time. It's certainly drier with heavier carbonation.

A knowing staff member of local beer store steered me toward this 4 pack. This tasting from a can dated 8/16/19. As a NEIPA fan this was a welcome introduction to this brewery. Really enjoyed to subtle grapefruit/orange notes, carbonation, and overall drinkability. Will seek this out more.

L: Murky Straw-yellow hue with decent retention and lacing to last.

S: Citrus, Pineapple, and melons

T: Super citrus with hoppy backbone and earthy grassiness from the dry-hopping.

F: Medium body with fine carbonation and bitter to boot.

O: Varied significantly. Sometimes I prefer the standard. But a good drinking brew.

A hazy grapefruit colored brew.

Citrus and and grapefruit plus a good amount of zest in the aroma.

More citrus coats the tongue alongside fresh squeezed OJ, and a hint of grapefruit. Finishes faintly bitter.

Medium in body.

A subtle yet very flavorful beer that is an unexpected but very welcome addition to the ever-growing array of world-class brews being distributed to this once beer backwater. Send us more!

Bottled early May 2018; drank 6/3/18 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, bubbly off-white head; strong tree-rung lace.

Orange citrus & faint wheat notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Mild orange citrus flavor up front; very dry grass notes on the finish.

Watery & bland with a too-dry finish. Pass.

Aroma: Pinapple/Melon, Strong Citrus, with a hint of Ash smoke.

Color: Hazy Golden Straw with a two finger head that sits for a bit before dissolving into a light lacing around the edge of the glass.

Taste: Pleasant Citrus with a strong hoppiness that's rather pleasant, but not too overpowering. The dry hopping adds a nice lemongrass undertone to the final bits of the taste.

Finish: Leaves a nice hop bitterness with orange and lemon on the tongue.

Impressions: A good beer to sip at while at the bar with people, each time I have this, the flavors change a bit with the age of the hops or the quality of the batch.

06/2016 - supremely creamy, nice hop character, and juicy on the nose fosho; balanced presence of Citra, with mango, peach, and pineapple coming through on the palate; smooth, mild bitter finish.

Poured into a snifter. Hazy bright golden color with a modest white head. Some fairly big floaters. Big aromas of pineapple, tangerine, and faint resin pine. The taste was fairly bitter with a tropical quality, balanced with grass, and faint resin. Medium bodied and carbed. Easy to see why this is hyped.

On draft. I actually think I prefer regular Pseudo Sue. I have had that beer several times and am usually quite happy with it. This one was also quite tasty but I think some of the nuanced elements found in the original are lost here.

Poured from an undated bomber, a hazy pale Orange with a white head and some lacing. Citrus rind aroma, taste has some citrus, malts and hops. Very smooth, flavorful easy drinker. I'd really like to see this in cans.

On tap. Poured a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of orange peel, grapefruit and pine. Sweet tropical fruits with piney bitterness and toasted caramel.

Bottle to tasting glass. Thanks to DC for sharing. We are guessing about 2 months old.

Slightly hazy yellow. Solid white head. Good retention.

Aroma: citrus, melon, hint of leaves/wood/ash.

Taste: more of the same. Tasty. Fruity, but overly. Woody/leafy flavors balance out nicely. Ash comes in late.

Feel: super smooth. Really well balanced.

As a Chicago boy, Sue the Tyrannosaurus Rex sold it fore me. Even had she not been on the bottle, I would have to say this beer is quite fantastic.

It has a beautiful golden color that lightens on the edges, and with a good pour leaves a perfect amount of head.

The smell wasn't too pleasant for me, as smelled a bit dank for my liking, but the taste more than made up for it. There is a slight remainder of the smell, but the beer itself is beautifully balanced and easy to drink. At 5.5% alcohol, it's not too strong, but it builds a lot of character and flavor from the first sip.

The mouth feel is quite near perfect. The viscosity perfectly suits the type of beer and the flavors.

I think overall this beer tastes fantastic, looks fantastic, and its worst attribute (for me) was the smell. I think the thing I really thought was great about this beer, upon reflection, that it's great for sipping slowly, but the body, AC, and flavor profile also allow you to down it quickly, if the situation calls for it.

Usually don’t write reviews but toppling Goliath in general has amazed me on my trips to Iowa. This beer is excellent, golden straw color, very little head, pineapple-celery-lemongrass aroma. Just delicious taste, clean bitterness. No off tastes. From a pint glass poured from a 1 month old 22oz bomber. Would drink every day.

220z bottle undated purchased at Moonshine. Citrusy nose of orange and grapefruit. Hazy orange color. Orange flavor comes through with a grapefruit background and a hint of peach sweetness. Flavors are very balanced. Another very enjoyable beer from TG.

Poured from 22 oz bottle into shaker pint glass.
A: Pours a cloudy orange-yellow hue with 2 inch frothy white foam head with excellent retention. Simply beautiful.
S: Bright orange, grapefruit, and musky pine notes (Citra!).
T: Strong orange, pine, and grapefruit notes with a hint of dry cracker malt. With warming, notes of juicy peach and mango emerge.
M: Light-medium body. Juicy fruit, moderately bitter hops, and a musky pine note. The bitter and musky notes linger into the finish more than the sweeter notes...small bummer.
D: Love the citra impact. A very nice variant of Pseudo Sue!

Bottled 23 days ago.

L — Hazy orange body with a finger of solid white head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and some lacing. Some noticeable floaties
S — Orange, grapefruit pith, dank new sneaker, basil, thyme, hint of pine. Very classic citra
T — Rindy and pithy citrus with hints of floral, astringent pine, and honey
F — Crisp and easy drinking. Medium mouthfeel, medium carb.
O — Much more enjoyable than regular PseudoSue, which I find errs too sweet and candy-like. Solid APA. Pricey
