pours a beautiful murky light peach...
aroma of pine, citrus, pineapple, and mild-dank...
mouthfeel is lightly creamy and well-carbonated
flavors of orange, pine, and dusty-bread....mildly bitter finish
Overall--fantastic brew, and I'm a treehouse snob who vastly prefers NE IPAs, but this is right on par!

This beer pours a mostly clear deep straw with a solid head. The aroma start with a huge blast of citrus, mostly grapefruit with some lemon, then pineapple and mango, and light brown sugar. The flavor presents grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit, and underripe mango. The mouthfeel is thin and slightly frothy. Taste wise, this is very similar to regular pseduo, but the aroma is much more intense. Genius beer.

Slightly hazy golden orange.

White head with lace.

Very juicy Sue like the good ol' Iowa days. Lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Grapefruit, mango, papaya, and orange. Floral and earthy. Nice and hoppy without too much bitterness.

This is definitely enjoyable.

Draft at Toppling Goliath Brewery.

Appearance is hazy, golden-orange. Nice lacing foam present upon pour. Beautiful deep citrus aroma, with mango also abundant. Taste, especially when compared to regular PseudoSue, is much more intense with juicy, citrus notes. General easy-drinking yet full mouthfeel with good amounts of carbonation. Finish is smooth and slightly dry at the end.

Overall, hard to look at regular PseudoSue the same again. This is a step change from it, containing another level of depth of smell & taste. Just more robust in general. Would love to see it more often.

L: Hazy off orange. Nice carb. 2 fingers of slightly off white head foam on an easy pour
S: Citrus, hoppy, orangey, fresh and slightly sweet and slightly dry.
T: Big Citra bomb. Really juicy and slightly dry. Extremely drinkable!
F: Slightly silky smooth and soft medium mouthfeel. This is what really puts TG over the top with their beers.
O: I'm a homer but I don't care. I loved this variant. I loved the dry hopped. Gives it a Mosiac Hopped smell and taste but with straight Citra Hops. I still place KingSue and Sosus above this, but it is damn close to second to Sosus.

My big juicy beer - A big dank brew, flavors of wet hemp, citrus zest, and some tropical fruit, mango. Yet another bottle of amazing juice from TGB. Full body full citrus fruit nose and absolute delicious hop bomb on the pallet. It's a well rounded APA that needs no introduction - Mr Sue baby. Pretty sweet to get this, just... Delicious!

650ml bottle. Served in a gold TGB snifter glass.

Pours a mildly cloudy light copper-orange body, one finger white head, perfect amount of head and lacing, thin film, moderate collar, good retention. Smells of dank, resinous tropical fruit and citrus, a bit of grapefruit, touch of caramel and grainy pale malt sweetness. It's essentially what I remember old pseudoSue (when they still brewed and bottled pseudoSue at the Decorah brewery!) to be, but with a bit more more tropical fruit and resin. Flavour follows the nose, tropical fruit, citrus zesty bitterness, grapefruit, caramel, grainy cereal, not particularly bitter but loaded with hop aromatics. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, good carbonation, not too dry or too slick, mild citrusy zest bitterness. This isn't as juicy as the original regular pseudoSue was, with a more pronounced hop resin and bitterness, which isn't surprising. This is a very good hoppy pale ale and much closer to what I remember than what Brewhub has been putting out as of late.

Pours orange-gold with cloudy haze. Large cream colored head is quite dense and has good retention. Lots of sticky lacing.

Lots of big citrus and tropical aromas. Orange rind, lemon, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, and tangerine. Caramel malt, a bit doughy.

Bright citrus flavors. Orange, tangerine, and lemon. Malt is light but sorta chewy, caramel-like. Grapefruit on the finish. More citrus and less tropical than regular PS.

Medium body with medium carbonation. Mild citrus bitterness with a bit of an oily feel. Hints of creaminess. Orange lingers.

Nice twist on an already outstanding beer. Massive aroma. Seems to be more citrusy than regular PS which I find to be a mix of citrus and tropical.

Bottled 3 days ago , very excited to drink this one so fresh. Crystal clear, not what I was expecting. I would much prefer the Murky orange Sue of a few years ago. Lots of tropical fruit in the nose. Citra bomb, as expected. Very fruity flavor and a little bit dry. Very easy drinker. great carbonation and very smooth. Good beer but I think I prefer Regular Sue (which I thought this was when I bought it, as the only indicator that is was DDH Sue, is tiny on-bottle print above the date code).

Wow this is absolutely incredible, this takes the base beer, which is already one of my favorites and completely knocks it out of the water. Do whatever you need to to get this, seriously it's that good.

L: Light honeycomb and soft yellow orange hues with an ample 3mm white head and incredible lacing
S: Bursting with tangerines, mangoes, and pineapple
T: Follows the nose - this is a decadent tropical treat with a bit of sweetness. The citra hops are so expertly crafted on this one - delicious
F: Smooth, creamy and a moderate amount of carbonation
O: It's hard to imagine a better pale ale as DDH Psuedo hits on all the right notes. As other reviewers have noted, the nose on this is unmistakable with huge tropical fruits and citrus. The taste follows suit and the mouthfeel is just the right amount of creamy and soft. To me this is what NEBCO's Big Fuzzy Double aspires to be - a citra bomb that is refined and softened on the edges. Well done, TG.

Bottled 5/25/16.....consumed within one week of bottling.

Pours a slightly hazy orange with about two fingers of white head. Nose is outstanding....smell hits you as soon as the top comes off the bottle....notes of pineapple, orange, mango, and stonefruit. Strong citra taste....bold hops up front followed by a smooth finish. The malt bill adds a little earthiness to the finish. Amazing beer....glad to finally try a pseudo from Decorah.

What a treat to try PsuedoSue that was brewed and bottled in Iowa again as the Florida version that we now get is not as good. I can't say that the dry hopping adds a lot to the taste but it makes the nose incredibly juicy and citrus-like. This beer was smooth, hoppy and reminded me of how good the original Sue was before it got contracted out to Florida.

22oz Bomber
Starks - Prairie du Chien, WI

Bottled: 5/25/16

PseudoSue's double dry hopped brethren glows sunset orange, the sun low in the sky the second you can look at it without burning out your retinas. The moderate cloudiness only amplifies the glow when backlit. The foam on this beer is no joke. A little dirty white with two fingers in height. The side of the glass reads like a history of each drink I've taken with sheet lacing all the way and history lines, thicker yet, where each drink was taken. I have to admit, this is a damn good looking beer!

The nose is pretty outstanding and I don't believe I've come across this concentrated an aroma of Citra in any prior beer. Big jammy orange leads the way before all the tropical take over. This beer simply drips guava nectar and passionfruit, tangerine isn't far behind There's a touch of underripe pineapple on the periphery, I'm surprised there's not more actually. candied grapefruit and orange peel make their presence known as well. There's even a touch of earthy flint down deep. The malt base is tough to pick out but it's softly sweet and sugar cookie-ish. Excellent!

The flavor profile takes on all that delicious citra as well, accentuated by the dense nose on each drink. Big pungent tropical fruits lead the way, the ones mentioned above. Tangerine plays a big role as well, a big role. Candied citrus peel brings a perceived sweetness while the tropical are more fresh and naturally sweet. That earthy note comes back in the flavor profile but not as flint, more woodsy this time. It's always amazed me the depth and character a good brewer can pull from using only Citra. This beer perfectly showcases that ability.

The mouthfeel is pure luxury. It's moderate in weight with a slickness mid palate through the finish. The body is plush after a prickly carbonation hits upfront. The bitterness rises to moderate throughout the drink and lingers while it dries. There is no stopping the drinkability of this beer. All day long if possible.

Damn, I'm kind of shocked by this beer. PseudoSue is a damn fine beer. Somehow this version is head and shoulders above the original. I don't even like rating beer this high and wanted to ding it everywhere I could, with that said, it's outstanding. Double Dry Hopped PseudoSue is one of the best new beers I have drank in a long while.

Look: looks like the best pale ale I've ever had
Smell: Smells like a 10/5. Best nose on a Pale possible. I think I can still smell it a day later.
Taste/Feel: Like the best pale ale I've ever had
Overall: The best pale ale I've ever had. Really hope Decorah keeps pumping out Sue and versions of it because this is world class.

Citra, citra, citra! I know that is one too many citras. This is even juicier than regular sue. Amazing job TG. The best part is it took everything great about (decorah) sue, mouthfeel, easy drinking, aroma, and cranked up the Citra juiciness.

Was not this excited to try a beer in a while; one day old double dry hopped Sue in a bomber. I might modify this review regardless but so far this is not disappointing. The smell is like normal PsuedoSue on steriods; overwhelming citra hops smell. The taste is like a very rich, layered Sue if that makes any sense. It kinda tastes like the normal Sue but then is a bit different. To me it tastes like it is higher ABV than regular every day Sue but almost goes down a bit more smooth (does not have some of that bitter finish the canned Sue has). Pretty pumped so far; need to get my hands on a King Sue to be able to compare the taste. Have another bomber in the hotel fridge and will see how that one goes down tomorrow. Regular Sue is my go to beer so did not really see anyway that this could be a let down or not be good.
