Pours a VERY hazy bright orange color (much hazier than original) with tons of lacing from a bone white head. Aroma is tropical and juicy, somewhat one note though. Nice smooth and creamy mouthfeel, little bit of a bite at the end. Juicy in flavor as well. Definitely much better than standard Pseudo Sue (not sure if the recipe changes also), but a tasty drink.

pours out a light golden color with a dense bright white head, wonderful lacing. aromas of grapefruit, plastic, spicy floral note, some hints of mango and tangerine, bit of honey like sweetness. on palate is big pithy grapefruit up front, lemon, some dankness and pine notes, orange, some sweet honey malts as well, has a slightly spicy bite on the finish, very nice!! mouth feel is light but has the necessary texture.

Strong citrus aroma -- grapefruit, orange. Very good. Turbid dark/dirty orange color, translucent/opaque, no visible carb bubbles, white head that does not last long. It is too "muddy" to be really attractive and with no head to boot, not the best looking beer. Taste dominated by citrus strains, grapefruit seems dominant, but with orange, other tropical fruits as well. Mouth feel is smooth, not too thick. Apart from the sharp bite of the citrus, not very bitter initially, but some pine lingers in the aftertaste. Not a lot of contribution from the malts, it seems. Nonetheless, a very nice "juicy" pale ale.

Hazy orange color with white head and lacing the glass as I drink it. Smells of citrus and overripe fruit. Flavor is appropriately bitter with excellent fruity flavors. Mouthfeel is very solid at 5.8%, not over the top thick which is what I look for in a pale ale

Cloudy straw appearance with white head that desipates quickly. Hoppy aroma. Taste is strong hoppy with a slight citrus touch. This is a little disappointing as the citrus part of the taste and aroma were not as significant as I think it should be.

PseduoSue, Double Dry Hop pours a hazy golden color, with a small, but long lasting lacing head. Big dry aroma, lots of hops and citrus. Flavor is bitter, but more on the balanced side, lots of hop, some citrus bitter fruit notes, with a big dry finish. Great body and feel. Overall, fantastic world class beer. Very full, very flavorful, very dry, and its all drinkable.

Pours a hazed orange, somewhat translucent, one finger head, thin lacing. Smells of bright citrus, candied fruits, earthy. Taste is crisp hoppiness, tropical, into a crackery buttery malt. Finishes lasting dryness and bitterness on the back of the tongue. Really well balanced, smooth and very drinkable.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, yellow session. Aroma is milky, yeasty, dank and oniony. Taste follows: oniony, milky, dank. Medium body with a dry bitterness. Really similar to the NE style IPAs.

Appearance: Murky yellow, big head.

Smell: Citrus, dank, vegetal. Not as strong as I would think for a DDH beer.

Taste: Balanced, bready and fruity. Moderate citrus. Very low bitterness.

Overall: Picked up a bomber with bottled date 5/11, consumed on 5/14. I've heard that sometimes with DDH beers they need to sit for a week or two after bottling for best results. I suppose I should have done that with this beer because it was pretty underwhelming considering the massive amount of praise in other reviews. I would call it a well made pale ale but nothing spectacular.

L: Pours hazy in a tulip glass with minimal head.
S: strong pineapple and grapefruit
T: hop forward. The taste isn't quite what is picked up on the nose, but still Insanely good with a great grapefruit finish
F: medium carbonation, great mouthfeel.
O: one of the best pale ales I've had. The hops are intense, with a slightly bitter finish.

A: cloudy; deep gold I color; 1 finger white head that receded to a thin collar; nice lacing;

S: very aromatic; white grapefruit and pineapple; really nice;

T: doesn't live up to the aroma; still quite good; grapefruit and pineapple in equal parts; moderate bitterness from just before the middle that fades at the end;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: very good, but for me, it didn't live up to the hype;

Thanks to umichifan for this. Poured on the wife's birthday.

Not too many words for this beer.

Perfect appearance with the right amount of haze.

Aroma is on point with plenty of citrus notes, grapefruit, and faint hints of pineapple.

Taste is on par with aroma. Grapefruit / citrus notes to carry the beer through.

Mouthfeel was light to medium with a creamy afterfeel.

Overall this is a beer that must be sought out. Definitely the best pale ale I've ever had. I would keep this stocked in the fridge if it was available in my area year round. Might not be my favorite beer of all time, but definitely my favorite pale ale.

22oz bottle poured into a teku

A- pours a golden-orange color with a one-finger foamy white head that reduces to a thin film floating on top, laving a bit of lacing behind

S- tons of juicy citrus up front with highlights of tangerine, grapefruit & a hint of lemon. Undertones of herbal and tropical aromas, with notes of passionfruit, mango & guava. Just a hint of malty sweetness to round it out

T- juicy citrus hops follow the nose up front with a blast of orange pith, tangerine & grapefruit zest. Mid-palate brings an tropical mix of melon, pineapple and passionfruit. As it nears the finish, resinous notes of pine and fresh cut grass bring it to a close with some earthy/herbal linger

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a slightly creamy, dry finish, super drinkable

O- the base beer is already awesome, the double dry hopping just kicks it up a notch. Juicy and dank, but remaining super drinkable, one of the best pale ales I've had the pleasure of trying

Why hello there Mr. Tall, Dark & Hopsome! Just when you though that the Sue couldn't get any more attractive, the brewers at Toppling Goliath dressed their rock star up in a double dry hop dosing of Citra hops for a centerfold of flavor that's sexier than ever.

Citra Double Dry Hop SpeudoSue pours with the fresh squeezed, pulpish haze of any New England style pale ale and then crowned with a sepia meringue before casting a fragrant citrus spell upon the senses. Striking the nose with the bold perfume of orange laden citrus, softly muddled herb and hints of tropical fruit and the mere scent leaves the mouth salivating. Juicy, sweet and fruity, the malt structures share the light caramel and honey of fructose along with a bready backbone seemingly of poundcake.

As the malts slowly release from the palate, the hops roll in with a confident array that starts with mandarin orange, pink grapefruit, lime, lemon and herbal verbena. The middle palate soon invites the tangy succulence of pineapple, passionfruit, kiwi and cantaloup for an extra measure of seduction. Fresh grass clippings, softly shaven pine and the fine hemp-like herbalness of chive and geranium create a smooth and vegetal bitterness that has the tastebuds begging for more.

Like catnip for hopheads, the medium bodied beer trends dry, crisp and clean. Its smooth bitterness keeps in keeping with the pale ale style, but its hop-forward attitude has the senses seeing IPA of the highest degree. A medium length aftertaste of fruit peels and herb evokes the memories of fruit gelato and creamsicle.

Sunset haze. Two finger head that hangs on a bit and then disappears with cascading lacing. Mango aromas. Hop bliss with the perfect tropical notes and grapefruit bitterness. A subtle resin finish emerges as it warms. The body is a little thin otherwise this would edge out all others in the class. World class beer.

Was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. This beer really is world-class.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into an oversized wine glass. Dated 3/17/17 so less than a month on it. Pours a very cloudy ruby orange color--pretty much opaque. Very little head and decent lacing. Pretty much what I would expect for this style. However the color is what makes this beer so gorgeous to look at. There is a little sediment at the bottom of the bottle (poured into my second glass).

Aroma is on point--possibly the strongest aspect of this beer... Absolutely delicious. Very potent fruity mango and citrus tones with a definite hoppy backbone. The mixture of mango and citra hops is like nothing I have ever experienced.

The hops hit you right away upon taking a sip, but as I continue to drink the mango and citrus flavors becomes more prevalent. Bitter yet very refreshing finish. Would be perfect for a hot summer day.

Feel is medium thickness, average carbonation for a pale ale. Very smooth sipping overall. Feels like a lightly carbonated fruit juice--but tastes SO much better.

Would make this my go-to beer if it were constantly available. Just a perfect medley of hops and fruit. Glad I picked up a few 22oz bottles but may have to get more this week to save for summer... Undeniably one of the best beers I have had.

I want to say as much as possible about this beer but to keep it simple this is my new favorite beverage of all time. I had it for the first time this morning ( I work third shift. Don't judge) then I went back to the liquor store later and bought two more.
My fiance is not going to be happy about that last part.

I don't know if it's my having gotten used to Trillium's DDH which are spectacular, but this felt underwhelming. It's not a bad beer by any means but nose, taste and feel were a little lighter than I was expecting it to be. Still good tohugh.

Looks hazy, nose is citrus and floral and taste is a well balanced hopped IPA with citrus and pine notes. So incredibly balanced. Slightly hopped forward for a bitter taste on the backside.
