My old neighbor shared a bottle of this with me whilst I'm in town for my son's hockey tournament. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had a citrus spice. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with citrus peel presence. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a solid beer.

Gentle pour exploded into foam. 1" of beer and my glass was overflowing with head. Wtf.

Smells ok.

Tastes strange. Not infected but I don't like it.

Feel and overall. Whatever.

Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, pineapple and mango. Sweet citrusy, juicy flavors with a touch of caramel and piney bitterness.

Beautiful orange color. The nose is amazingly tropical, with notes of guava, pineapple and citrus. An incredible silky smooth body delivers similar tropical notes with just the slightest bit of pine on the finish. Wish the taste could match the amazing aroma though.

Piney aroma with some citrus. Hazy, turbid orange. 1/2 inch white head. Nice looking, but it could be a bit brighter. Taste is consistent with the aroma, piney but not overly bitter, with some citrus/orange flavor in the finish. Just enough body and malt foundation. Good balance. More of a traditional APA than the juicy style TG is known for, but I like it. It is a very well done APA. Too bad it is a one-of.

L- pours a beautiful, hazy, mango Orange. Has a very large, white, foamy head. It leaves a lot of leasing behind. Plenty of carbonation.
S- a smell that is hard to beat. Lots of hops, citrus in malt smells. Included are lots of melon smells.
T- lots of Juicy Citrus Hops and pine resin. A good amount of malt to help smooth things over. Plenty of hot bitterness that sticks around and resonates up through the nose. Not as much Citrus juice flavor that you get on a lot of the other X hop series. Has a bit of spice.
O- overall, another great IPA from Toppling Goliath.

Pours hazy, orange in color with one inch head. Taste is apricot, orange zest, and hay. Medium bodied, slightly bitter with moderate carbonation. Makes for a juicy and enjoyable pale that I wpuld get often if it were local.

Slightly hazy sunset orange. White head.

Interesting hop profile. Has a melon flavor. Fairly juicy but still earthy, floral, and hoppy. Some orange peel. Easy drinking. Light bitterness.

S - grassy, lemon-lime and passion fruit, mango, and pineapple
T - juicy, zesty, grassy, passion fruit, lemon and lime zest, mango, wheat malt
M - medium body, resinous and bitter with a dry finish
O - great aroma and great flavor! Glad I grabbed a bottle when I saw it.

This beer pours a clear gold with a large head. The aroma features sharp lemon peel, pink grapefruit, sour watermelon, and sharp floral qualities. The flavor is full of bright citrus peel and pink grapefruit flesh with underripe kiwi and other acidic fruits, and a hint of chalky soil. The mouthfeel is light and fairly astringent, with a chalky texture at the finish. Overall this is not an exceptional beer - it is a bit bright and harsh - but it is still very tasty.

Appearance - Pours turbid orange color with super thick fluffy white head. Will the head ever go away!!

Aroma - Lost of citrus orange, mango, tangerine with a touch of grapefruit.

Taste - Taste is similar to the aroma orange, grapefruit with some bitter hops.

Feel - Medium bodied prickly carbonation touch of bitterness that lingers.

Overall - Really great flavorful pale ale.

F: highly carbonated, medium thickness and easy drinking with a slight bitter finish.

Good looking beer, deep orange in color, almost entirely opaque. Ample white foam with good retention. Lacing is minimal. Aroma is hop forward but not overpowering. Tropical fruit with some earthy/dank qualities. The taste again hits with tropical fruits, mango, guava. Notes of pineapple, ripe peach, and mild dank notes. Light-medium body, moderate-high carbonation, and a balanced finish. A very nice APA from Toppling Goliath!

Pours hazy orange. Medium, foamy white head that lasts shortly with light lacing.

Smells grapefruit, citrus, tropical, pineapple, mango and malt.

Tastes grapefruit, orange peel, pineapple, fruit and light bready malt. Finish is dry with a citrus peel and light grassy linger. Medium body and light fizzy medium carbonation.

Pours very hazy peach orange with a thick white head that sticks around for a while and leaves only a bit of lacing. The aroma is grapefruit, pineapple and peaches. Flavor is sweet ripe fruits and only a touch of bitterness. Feels thick for a pale ale in a good way. I'd buy this again if I could get it in a four or six pack format. A touch pricy for what it is.

On tap at the brewery. Murky orange. Smells fruity. Some citrus, grape, maybe melon. Tastes of orange peel, melon and grape. A touch of sweetness. Low bitterness with a grape juice finish. Medium body. Another delicious pale ale from TG.

Pours a hazy golden yellow orange with a two finger head of white foam.

Mango, pineapple, and citrus fruits dominate the aroma.

Citrus fruit comes out more in flavor while the tropical fruit notes seem muted, a smidge of grassy dankness finishes the swallow.

Medium-bodied, medium carbonation, juicy upfront, and bitter dry finish.

Overall, this brew has a fantastic aroma, but falls short on flavor and the bitter and dry finish doesn't do the juicy tropical fruit notes justice.

Heavy haze, downright murky golden color. A finger of head forms and moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of pine, hay, citrus, and a bit of tropical fruit. Not dank. Flavor of grapefruit, pineapple, and a earthy, grassy note. Malt adds some sweetness but not much flavor. Bitterness is moderate. The heft of body belies the ABV. Nice carbonation. Nice hoppy beer but I do not think brings anything new to the pale ale realm.

Thanks to Jeff for this one. 22oz. bomber into a Surly teku.

Surprisingly hazy considering the brewery and where its made. Nose is citrus and starfruit. Juicy and sweet with nice tropical fruit aromas. Beer opens grapefruit, starfruit and other tropical citrus fruits. Light tartness in the middle with just a prick of hop bitterness at the end reminiscent of citrus peel. A touch of waxy bitterness in the aftertaste. Super drinkable and light bodied with ample carbonation. Dry on the finish.

Very solid. This is a session beer I'd love to hang with for a while.

A-Poured into a pint glass half finger of cream foam atop a very hazy ruddy yellow brew.
S-A subdued hop with a noticeable sweet aroma. A bit non-descript. A fair amount of grainy malt character pops out.
T-Sweet brew. Hops seem floral. A bit of fruitiness-mango. Pine/hop resin in the finish. Malt substantial.
M-Nice body on this pale ale. It's a bit chewy. Slight to moderate bitter finish. Decent carb bite.
O-I'm having a hard time putting my finger on this beer. A bit unusual. The hops are floral, piney and not very aromatic. Not one of my favorite beers from TG. I can do better for $10 for 22 oz.

Pours to a hazy golden orange appearance with a slight head that laces very nicely. Reticent nose with a dairy product like aroma (old yogurt?). Not much else. Taste is a letdown too - piney hops, a funky yogurt flavor and somewhat sharp finishing bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the heavier side for a pale which is nice. Overall a poor showing for an XHOPS beer as I really enjoyed Silver and Gold. One and done for me.

Poured fresh from a bomber.

A hazy medium orange hue with a nice 1.5 finger slowly dissipating head. Lovely lacing.

Aroma is mango, banana, pine, and starburst candy. Extremely juicy.

Taste is more bitter than the nose lets on but there is some juiciness packed in. Loads of citrus and mango.

Feel is very refreshing, very smooth medium body and carbonation. Aftertaste leaves a bit to be desired as it is slightly bitter.

Overall, a great APA. Refreshing, smooth, enjoyable. Not the best TG APA but when you have competition like DDH Pseudo Sue and Pompeii, hey take what ya can. This is a tasty beer. Don't get why all the hate.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 22 fl oz bottle on June 3, 2017. Look is hazy golden orange with a thick off-white head and spotty lacing. Smell and taste is tropical fruit and pine with caramel and grain malt. Feel is medium in body with a somewhat dry finish. Recommended.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A very juicy and dank hop driven aroma with a scent of tropical fruit and pine resin. Big upfront scent of citrus hops with some orange peel, grapefruit, melon, lemon, and tangerine along with some pineapple and berries. Earthy hop scent of pine resin and grass. Background malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker along with yeast. A really good juicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and piney hop dominated taste with notes of tropical fruit and pine resin. Ripe and juicy upfront hop presence with notes of orange peel, melon, grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon zest along with some pineapple and berries. Earthy hop notes of pine resin and grass. Background malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains along with some yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, oily, and drying.

Overall: Another great hop bomb in the X - Hop series. Big tropical fruit and pine notes with a moderate body.

650ml bottle. Served in a Toppling Goliath chalice. Pours a hazy, medium yellow-orange hued body, one finger white head, good retention, lots of lacing. Smell is freshly cut melon, citrus, a little of straw, mild caramel, slight floral resin. Flavour is straw, melon, citrus zest, light resin, minimal caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, good carbonation- on the lower end, but still appropriate. A very solid IPA, this works well as an all-around hop, whichever one this is.
