It has all the barrel flavor you'd expect from a big TG stout. But the vanilla finishes oddly sweeter than it should. This is no doubt a world class beer. I just think there's a little too much unfermented sugars right away. Knowing there's likely still some active yeast too, I suspect time in the bottle will round things out nicely. In a year X will be perfect.

Impressive. Thick, lots of vanilla. IMO, the bottle we opened in 2020 comes into the middle ground between regular Assassin and VB Assassin. Should be relatively obtainable at this point and pretty justifiable if you enjoy a vanilla stout. Be forewarned though, different bottles have different level of vanilla from what I'm told.

Bottle. Tan head. Black color. Thick motor oil.
This is the biggest marshmallowy beer I’ve ever had. It even has marshmallow mouthfeel. Vanilla. Sweetness with a huge barrel flavor to cut it. Big bourbon and oak. Fudge and cake batter. Caramel. Molasses. Really awesome bottle. So thick.

L: Dark onyx hues with a nice rusty/khaki head
S: Marshmallow, vanilla bean, cacao nibs
T: Big barrel, but underpinned by rich fudge, dark chocolate, and a subtle vanilla
F: Stupid thick - on par with Assassin, Sr-71, KBBS, etc.
O: Such a treat. Great barrel and nice vanilla. Excellent from TG.
