Notes / Commercial Description:
This spectacularly golden, medium bodied IPA was crafted from a winning combination of Golden Promise malt and Nugget hops. Fall in love with the big hop aroma of our Golden Nugget as it mingles with fragrances of citrus and evergreen, followed by a floral sweetness. Tropical fruit flavors entice your taste buds before immediately captivating you with a bold, hop forward taste and a pleasant bitterness in the finish.

Canned ~4 weeks ago.

L -- Pours the standard NEIPA orange-amber haze with a nice, frothy 3-finger white head produced with moderate pour. Great retention and lacing
S -- Lemon sorbet, lime zest, orange flesh, melon, spruce tips, hint of sweet floral
T -- Moderate resinous/earthy bite upfront, followed by a rush of mango sorbet, citrus peel, pineapple, floral
F -- Crisp, fluffy, and mildly astringent. Has that same soft mouthfeel I get in (almost) all of TG's hoppy offerings
O -- Pretty impressive aroma/flavor profile given that nugget is the hop used. Great value, too: I still can't get over the fact that 4-packs of 16 oz cans are $11 in MA, but bottled offerings are between $12 and $15 for a single bomber.

Glows a golden hue like Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and I reckon that it probably smells like here too. Rich, vibrant tropical fruits on the tongue for dayz on dayz.

Yeah, I like dat.

Pours a dark golden orange with a fair amount of stemming carbonation and a head that doesn't quit.

Pine resin, orange peel, and light floral notes.

Resinous, citrusy, and grassy.

Light-medium bodied, medium-high carbonation, crisp, enjoyable.

Overall, not my go-to beer, but one I'll opt for if available.

Canned sometime at the end of March 2018, forget exact date; drank on 4/20/18, thought the name of the beer was fitting; very good hazy IPA, one of the better ones I have had from outside the Northeast

Poured from an undated, 16 oz. can received in @swenny916's generous BIF box into Spiegelau IPA glass. It pours a hazy, nearly opaque golden tangerine color with over a half finger of foamy, fluffy bright white head and soapy lacing. It has a fragrant nose featuring lemon, grapefruit, orange, mint, lactose, pine, and floral hops. The taste is more on the bitter citrus side with lots of tart lemon and grapefruit, and bitter hops. It doesn't seem to be only 45 IBU. However, as the glass warms I'm noticing a hint of sweet orange/tangerine and notes of vanilla/lactose. The flavor profile is more complex than it seems at first. It has a fairly creamy mouth feel with pleasant carbonation, and it's an easy drinker at 6.8% ABV. Overall, for a year-round offering Golden Nugget is very good. If you don't like gimmicky, adjunct-laden IPA's then seek Golden Nugget out. I can only imagine how good this would taste fresh and on draught.

Poured from a can with a date of 3/22/18 into the pint glass.
A - Turbid golden backdrop, Loose knit froth of snow white rides the top. Carbonation id present but hard to see.
S - Light malt, a bit of grain dust, pineapple, some fresh pine, a bit of honeysuckle
T - Sweet malt, tangerine honey and a bit of biscuit.
M - Soft water profile, gentle carbonation is surprisingly prickly. the finish is nice and dry
O - A very good IPA with the malt and hops on wonderful display

Holy cow, available in a 22 oz bottle kept cold at Yankee Liquor in Sturbridge MA. Gotta try it. Could not find a date. Poured into Carton Dubvariant glass.

L: Big initial head, but quickly reduces to a little white cap and ring with almost no lacing. Beer is a hazy deep golden orange.

S: Lots of pineapple, a good sign. Some orange and a little bit of the Golden Promise malt. Doesn't smell past prime.

F: But sadly, it is. You still get a bit of pineapple and floral, but malt and yeasts are coming forward now and most of the taste profile is lost. Finish is a bit floral and not bitter. I'd say just two weeks earlier and we'd be OK here. Still drinkable, but complexity lost.

T: Lightish body, light carbonation. Balance good, hard to judge construction now.

O: I can only rate it as is. The gulf between TG on tap in Decorah vs. contract brewed in FL is very large.

No dating or ABV on the can, but there's a date on the cardboard box the 4 pack came in. Dated 3/22/18, a little over 3 weeks old.

Pours an almost opaque dirty orange in the glass with almost 3 fingers of fluffy off-white head. Hit by a mix of citrus fruit and an almost spicy belgian-like character on first smell. This is followed by lemongrass, earthy dankness and bright florals. Taste follows the nose with the citrus and earth/grass notes taking up the front seat. It has a smooth medium body that leaves a medium amount of dryness in the aftertaste. Based on photos of previous brews of this being crystal clear, I can definitely see where it's coming from. It's a first for me, a nearly opaque, verging on heavy bodied, West Coast IPA.
