#5 ranked American Pale Ale (APA) | 6.80% ABV

Notes: Year-round availibility. This single hop ale showcases the Citra hop. Named for the largest T-rex fossil ever discovered, she roars with ferocious aromas of grapefruit, citrus, mango and evergreen. Delicate in body with a mild bite in the finish.

"Single hopped Citra Pale Ale"

Three consecutive drafts at the GTMW '11, around 8-10 oz. give or take. Review from transcribed notes.

Peachy hazed orange, tropical sunshine. Thick layer of white foam, leaving sticky arcs of lacing in the glass.

Tropical, citrusy, pungent but not too aggressive. Mango, grapefruit, dank green hops mesh with lush fresh fruit notes in the aroma. Some light resiny bitterness is balanced with a subtle pale malt presence in the middle. Big on citrus and tropical mango notes. Light bodied, quenching, and very tasty. I could have sat there and drank this all day. Pretty much the epitome of a hophead's summer session beer. Second favorite after Golden Nugget. Please put this in cans, TG!

2016: The cans are contract brewed in Florida, quality is good, but the taste/aroma isn't quite there.
2018: Decorah-brewed Sue seems closer to the original formula, maybe not as punchy as before, but very good.
