Notes: Zelicious single-hop showcase using the Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. Delightfully confusing aromas of citrus and mandarin oranges give way to an incredibly complex body of earth tones and marigolds. This is truly unlike any hop you’ve ever tasted.

A: Turbid showering of effervesce within a golden-orange dense colored body. Towering ivory head statue of three plus fingers, foamy with a bright white appeal. Really thick and juicy appearance, with a huge yeast dump on the second pour that settles on the bottom of the vessel. Yellow gold bar slurry. mmm protein. Dancing particulate matter in the active carbonation.

S: Pink grapefruit and pineapple juice. Soothing oranges and lime with some fruity watermelon and strawberries. Starts out strong and fresh, quietly and quickly fades.

T: Dank oranges and grapefruit for flavor with huge citrusy hops that turns to a dry flowery edge. Tropical fruit of pear, and stone fruit. Earthy herbal hop presence.

M: Medium build, soft and creamy, almost wheat like palate. Nice even smoothness, dank and bitter.

O: Nice start to nose and flavor. Solid and just what I expect from T.G. While it's no Pseudo Sue, it has its place for its fruity down under like hopping that was dank and juicy with an increasingly and likeable drinkability.

Tropical, fresh, vacation style IPA. Grassy, morning dew, light pineapple, orange juice, light pine. Feel is medium carbonation. It's a light, but tasty ipa, almost sessionable.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft, fluffy head.

Smell is juicy and a bit spicy with notes of gooseberries, grapes, lime and peach. Nelson, you say?

Taste is juicy and a bit peppery with solid bitterness. Notes of gooseberries, grapes, citrus and peach. Dry finish, slightly sharp.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy with good carbonation.

Overall, a very nice Nelson showcase IPA.

Medium hazy in appearance with plenty of foam in the chalice. Slushy mouthfeel with a sharp edge. Aroma of pea pods and a hint of green melon. Flavor is lime peel with a grapefruit finish. Moderately bitter with astringency in the aftertaste.

Overall this is quite interesting and certainly aromatic with citrus. The grapefruit peel aftertaste gets a little harsh after some sipping. From the 16 oz can purchased in a West Coast beer store. Canned 12/23/20.

Pours an opaque and hazy dirty straw with two big fingers of head and plenty of floaties. The nose has both tropical fruit and earthy notes. The flavor profile is a mixture of modestly sweet citrus and pithiness. The finish has mild bitterness.

The pale yellow can pour holds a slight haze. There is a white foam cap atop.
The aroma is floral with ( orange blossom) and of grapefruit zest.
The flavor follows the nose and includes grape/vinous aspects. This is fresh-flavored with moderate hop bitterness.
Flavors persist in a somewhat dry finish.
This is great.

It goes down too easily. Super smooth and juicy.
Beautiful cloudy appearance on pour with a soft layer of foam
Pungent grapefruit nose
Tart citrus on the tongue
But ohh the exquisite mouthfeel, perfect!
Thanks TG!

L -- Hazy golden-straw body with three fingers of rocky white head produced with moderately aerated pour. Good retention and lacing
S -- White grape, sunscreen, lemon peel, dank earthiness, hint of cattiness
T -- Orange pith, white grape skin, kiwi, wheat, green leafiness, dry floral, maybe a hint of oxidation. Overall perhaps a bit bland
F -- Medium- mouthfeel, medium+ carb. Slight leafy bitterness on the finish. Quite effervescent and prickly
O -- Fairly unmemorable but certainly quite drinkable

Another tasty beer from Toppling Goliath. This one had a little lingering bitterness on the finish that I hadn’t expected. Not sure if that was a good or bad thing. Rich flavors and appealing aroma.

16 oz can, canned 12/18/20. Pours very hazy orange gold with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is big stinky resiny hops.

The flavor is wheat malt with big resiny piney hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 12/18/20, so 7 weeks old.

Appearance is mixed. Cloudy pale orange juice body with a turbid look to it, floaties churning up and down. Excellent bright white head persists in very good shape throughout, leaving gobs of lacing.

Interesting aroma. A touch piney with a tropical undercurrent.

On tasting, follows the nose exactly, pine and tropical fruit.

Mouth between medium and full. Finish is a bit surprising, a very strong grapefruit bitterness that is somehow not jarring but pleasing.

Overall, not one of TG's best ipas, which makes it merely very good.

Served in a pint glass

This beer pours yellow and turbid. It is topped with an inch of beige head that leaves rings of lacing as I consume.

The aroma is tropical fruit and citrus with hints of pine.

Tropical fruit flavor upfront. There is a little grapefruit and pine in the finish. Mild bitterness.

Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel

Hmm. Maybe I shouldn't be passing on the TG beer I see. I bought two singles. Both are damn tasty.

Smell- NE oat malt smell with pineapple and citrus like grapefruit and orange
Taste - dialed back from the smell, citrus and part
Feel - medium full body with a slight creamy feel
Overall - good but with the smell carried over to the taste

Hazy yellow pour with a fat finger of white head and light lacing. Smells strongly of orange, melon, and peach, with accenting pineapple, grapefruit pith and floral hops. Airy, juicy, full and bitter, everything you could want from a single ipa. Taste is not as intense, focusing more on orange, lemon, pineapple and peach with floral and decently bitter hops. Feel is airy, soft, with swirling hops textures and light juice without verging into neipa territory. Really pleasant and uplifting

This one is pretty good. And wild. But I don’t know if I would call it ‘wildly good.’ Damn thing is hella all beautiful like Pam Anderson during a 1990’s slomo in Malibu - ok, I can get into that. Then when the big dog went in for a whiff - waboom! All Yasmin Bleeth. Taste is good. Again, but it’s not wildly good. It’s all kinds of good, but not perfection. Think of the Baywatch girl that is fourth on your list. Yeah, her.

Peace!

Hands down my favorite from TG, apart from the first time I tried SOSUS. Glad Zeelander comes in cans now! The flavor I remember has been carried over, while I can’t say the same for my memory of SOSUS. This is a much cattier aroma and flavor than the other NEIPAs out there, and it was jarring when I had this after a sweet juice bomb the other night. Having this one first now and it is deliciously balanced all around. The mouthfeel has a pronounced piney hop bitterness that I miss in most of today’s IPAs. Overall exceptional. The other Nelson Sauvin beer I’ve really loved, Nelson from Alpine, has a lot in common with this one. Glad to have this one local and delicious!

L: moderate tropicana vibes, hazy yellow, some yeast floaties in suspension.
S: grapefruit, pineapple.
T: this was canned on 12/16/20. Very fresh, intense hop flavor with a subtle malt base.
F: soft with some hop burn.
O: good hazy ipa, a solid representation of the NEIPA style. Even 5 weeks post canning the hop burn is still present and flavor is intense. A good representation of how TG packages its beer to allow distro time to dial back and balance these beers.

Color is a hazy grapefruit with strong citrus smells as soon as you open the can. The aroma is as hoppy as it is citrus. The taste is a strong citrus hop that has notes of orange and grapefruit. It finishes crisp, dry, and quick that has taste similar to a fresh orange peel.

This is an approachable IPA that wont hit you with too much bitterness. I had not had a Nelson hop beer before this, and could really tell that this was something unique.

Overall this beer as is good as other Toppling Goliath beers such as Pseudo/King Sue. The difference seems to be in which hop style you prefer.

Newest batch of cans. Color is a welcome sight. Hazy with that OJ look to it that I loved so much back in 2014. Aroma is pure Nelson goodness that I've been missing. This is easily one of my favorite TG IPAS and I'm so glad that it's around in cans.

Look: pours light yellowish/orange and very hazy.
Smell: very citrusy. Orange, grapefruit, mango
Taste: citrus taste with a slight bite at the end.
Feel: I wanted more! Perfect bitterness combined with floral and citrus tones.
Overall: I really love everything that TG produces and this is no exception. Another great IPA, just below King Sue.
