Our Naughty 90 Oaked IPA was inspired by ocean bound, oak barreled brews of the 1800’s. Packed with hops on a 90-minute schedule, uniquely malted, then aged on a bed of oak, this IPA delivers a taste that is both innovative and timeless.

22oz bottled 11/12/18 (nearly 5 years ago) poured into a nonic pint glass at fridge temp. No ABV or style indicated on label, but according to BA, it's an 8% English IPA. The beer pours opaque medium amber with tight, sticky khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin cap. Excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is mild with toasted bread, rich malt and oak. The taste is semisweet toasted malt, slight tobacco, slight cardboard with oak and black tea-like hops on the finish. Moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is creamy, medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, really good. I'm pleasantly surprised by a bomber I purchased at room temp yesterday.

Perfect dark-red/amber-brown with an off-white cap of foam that dissipated quickly. Rich tones of oak, roasted malt and hops. Immediate punch of dry tannin-like oak flavors, heavy thick malt sweetness with rich caramel flavor, firm hop bitterness and a dry finish despite the sweetness and body.

Overall another homerun from toppling, thick and heavy yet bright and crisp. Very complex and bold without being overbearing or 'too much'

Poured from 22 oz bottle into shaker pint glass.
A: Pours a light caramel brown with orange hues around the edges with backlighting. Nice 1 inch tightly bubbled light tan head with excellent retention.
S: Lightly sweet caramel malt, roasted nuts, oak, and a subtle spice.
T: Woah! This really opens up! Brown sugar, toasted oak, roasted nuts, soft creamy vanilla, cinnamon and other earthy spices, and hints of toffee, marshmallow, and creme brûlée.
M: Light-medium body. Decadently sweet, but not overly so. Dry with mild bitterness. Creamy and supple feel. Linger beautifully on the palate.
D: Such a well crafted and layered brew! Excellent for style! Another superb offering from TG!

Foggy burnt amber to brown with a short khaki head that fizzles out quickly.

This is kind of like a hoppy brown ale that's oak aged, and stale. The softly frothy full body has notes of toasted wheat and brown toast over graham and citrus rind, with a faint hint of vanilla and caramel corn far in the background. But it all kind of has a stale, astringent tone to it.

It reminds me a little of Budweiser's Copper Lager, to be honest.

$ 6.00/10 oz snifter, on tap at the brewery ($0.60/oz). Currently not bottled or canned, draft only. Reviewed 9/17/19.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – N/A
Body – Deep orange-amber, clear.
Head – Chopped by bartender, what remains is four mm, off-white, medium density, average duration, diminishing to a one mm crown and no cap. Some bits of lacing remain on the glass.
Lacing – Produces a narrow band of extremely tiny bubbles which are transitory.
Aroma – 4 – Oak.
Flavor – 4 – Very nice oaky vanillin and just a trace of tannin, some weak toffee maltiness. No alcohol (8 % ABV) flavor or aroma, no dimethylsulfide, no diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Medium, almost syrupy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4. Excellent take on an English IPA although the ABV is a tad high for that style. The bitterness is understated and seems to come from the oak more than the hops. If I weren’t driving, several of these would have been in order.

On tap in Cedar Rapids this poured deep amber into an imperial pint glass. Small head with very tight bubbles. You can't help but get the oak on the nose with some malty nuttiness. The palate offers smokiness like pipe tobacco mixed with vanilla pancakes. You can detect the hop profile but the malt is more forward. Medium body finish with a lingering after bite.
